About
Hi, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I became a celebrant over 15 years ago because I love sharing in one of the most special and memorable days for couples in love. It's your day - your way but I'll be there to listen, guide and ensure your day is exactly as you want. I'm a fairly relaxed celebrant, but focused when it comes to organisation and time constraints. Let's meet, chat and allow me to help your planning with my booklets of suggested formats and readings.

That is something your celebrant can manage.
Before the bride arrives, they simply ask that all guests respect the wishes of the bride and groom ~ they'd like their guests to enjoy the ceremony through their own eyes, rather than that of a camera lens.
Explain that professional photographers want to catch every smile, tear and expression of the bride and groom and they need the freedom to grab the best vantage spot.
Celebrants will thank the guests for their understanding and cooperation.
This can be done in a number of ways.
*A candle may be lit, signifying their presence.
* An acknowledgement to them in the early parts of the ceremony.
*A photo can be displayed to the side.
* A nominated person can say a poem, referencing them.
* Our wedding is casual so feel free to wear what you are comfortable in.
* Our wedding is semi formal, so we encourage cocktail attire (evening event ) or Sunday best (daytime event)
* Our wedding is formal so we encourage black tie attire.
As the bride and groom request that this is an adults only reception, we cannot accommodate your children.
Thank you for your understanding.
*Simply state that you would prefer monetary gifts.
*Create a cash fund wedding registry

Thanks for your kind words Kris! It was such a privilege to be part of your day. To see the smiles and obvious love that you and Alex had on your faces when you saw each other was priceless. Tell Alex I forgive him for sneaking in an early kiss (wink wink )

It was so easy to work with you and plan your special day Leonie. We didn't even let the sudden downpour at signing time dampen our enthusiasm and laughter on the day. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness.

Are there any nice wedding vows for guys? I struggle with putting words together for this sort of thing, would like some thought starters please.
Susan Rose Civil Marriage Celebrant
Many guys struggle with this.
By verbalising what they'd like to convey to their bride, any celebrant should be able to formulate the guy's in a way that outlines their feelings - without being too "gushy". Most guys like to keep it relatively short too.
To break a bit of possible nervousness, some guys like to include something particular to them.
eg I promise that I won't let my footy team games COMPLETELY overtake our television viewing.
I will always try to understand your NEED for multiple pairs of shoes, even when they are not on sale.
There's no problem in asking for help, especially from professionals who have done many weddings.
Good luck with penning your thoughts!

Do I need to register my wedding if I got married in a church?
This might seem like a dumb question but we were married in a church last year and got our marriage certificate from the priest - do I need to register this or is it automatically registered? Thanks
Susan Rose Civil Marriage Celebrant
NO question is dumb. :) The officiating priest has the responsibility to register your marriage, as do celebrants.

Most celebrants only get the pleasure of sharing one ceremony with their couples, but I had the privilege of sharing both your wedding AND Reaffirmation! To see a couple who love and respect each other as I witnessed with you both, makes my role so heart-warming. I have to admit, also, knowing you Stacey, from your birth to your day as a bride, was indeed a real pleasure. Enjoy your celebrations with your UK family in the coming months! Thanks for allowing me to be a small part of your most important days.
