FAQ

Of course, it is very easy to include children in the ceremony. They could be a flower girl, a ring bearer or if it to be a ceremony where one or both of the parties uniting in marriage the child or children of those parties can be included into the ceremony.

In Australia as long as you have lodged your Notice of Intended Marriage form with an authorised marriage celebrant within the required time - one month and a day before your wedding day, and all the required legal requirements have been met, then yes you can!

Normally a ceremony can be anything from 15-20 minutes depending on the ceremony structure and number of readings and other activities included but can last up to 30 minutes. Some couples like to incorporate a ritual such as a hand fasting or unity candle ceremony which can lengthen the ceremony.

Although it is not a legal requirement to exchange wedding rings, it is a time honoured tradition since the early times to honour the wedding commitment with an exchange of rings. The wedding ring is a symbol of "no beginning no end" and symbolises the never-ending nature of love.

Any persons not authorised as a marriage celebrant may play a role in aspects of the marriage ceremony as long as an authorised celebrant is present and conducts the ceremony and fulfils all the legal requirements in solemnising the marriage.

I'm a chilled bride. Is that a bad thing?

I just don't need any stress, and I don't think the wedding is as important as the marriage. Don't get me wrong, is IS important and I have my gorgeous dress and venue, and all of that, but do I really need to be going crazy for months in the lead up, worrying?

Endearing Ceremonies

It is absolutely great that your chilled, If your organised which it sounds like you are. I find that if you delegate some things that need organising then that too should help you stay relaxed for the big day. Organisation is the key to keeping your cool.

Good luck for your special day

Any ideas for a cool entrance to my ceremony?

Endearing Ceremonies

Hello, are you referring to a cool entrance by yourself as the bride or a cool entrance (eg: Wedding Arch/Arbour)

If its a cool entrance by you the bride, why not include h2b - where you could both enter from separate sides and walk down the aisle at the same time and meet at the alter.

Or, if your not being escorted by anyone, you could wait at the back and your h2b could walk to you and you both walk down the aisle together, that would be a beautiful moment for you and your guests.

Maybe you and your bridal party could do a little bit of a dance on the way to meet h2b.

A great movie I watch a little while ago "Mothers of the Bride" was fabulous and the ending was a hoot.

What are some examples of unusual readings for weddings?

Looking for something a little different.

Endearing Ceremonies

My most recent wedding last Saturday I had the groomsmen and bridesmaid say silent and hush when I included in the ceremony

"if any person or persons can show just cause why this couple should not be joined in marriage, speak now or forever hold your piece"

You could even have the groomsmen hold up boards with the word Silent on it while the bridesmaids go shhh or hush.

Hope this helps, it was a lot of fun and the guests enjoyed it.
