FAQ
Yes! You can have your wedding anywhere in Australia, whether it’s a beach, park, private venue, or even on a boat! Some public locations require permits, and national parks have specific rules. If you have a dream location in mind, I can guide you through any legal or logistical requirements to make it happen.
To legally marry in Australia, you must:
? Lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before the wedding (and no more than 18 months in advance).
? Have two witnesses (over 18) present at your ceremony.
? Sign the Marriage Certificate on the wedding day.
? Your celebrant will lodge the paperwork with the Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages to officially register your marriage.
I can take care of all the legal requirements and make sure everything runs smoothly!
Yes! I am fluent in English and profienct in Spanish, so I can officiate fully bilingual ceremonies or include special Spanish-language elements in your ceremony. Whether you’d like your vows in Spanish, a mix of both languages, or a personalised touch for your Spanish-speaking family and guests, I can make sure your ceremony is meaningful and inclusive.
Yes, a celebrant is required unless you are having a religious ceremony conducted by an authorised minister or a registry office wedding. As a celebrant, I ensure your marriage is legally binding and meets all Australian legal requirements.
Legally, no—unless one ceremony is symbolic. Once you're legally married in Australia, your marriage is recognised here, and attempting to remarry legally elsewhere could be considered bigamy, which is illegal. However, many couples choose to have a legal wedding in Australia and then a symbolic or cultural ceremony overseas for family and traditions. As your celebrant, I can help you navigate the best approach for your situation.
