“My husband and I can't thank Steve enough for the amazing job he did!! From the beginning he was friendly and provided heaps of vow and reading samples which made life much easier. On the big day, the section about us was well worded and accurate and we loved hearing our love story from a third party. Our friends later remarked what a great celebrant he is and his delivery style and choice of words is what people are looking for these days. We have previously attended friends' weddings where he was the celebrant and we knew straight away we wanted him as our celebrant when we got engaged.” Vanessa
About
I am a wedding junkie!! Yes, I am afraid I love weddings. What better way to spend a day than to play a small role in one of the most important days of anyone's life and officiate at their wedding! I get to spend time with couples who are totally in love, I am able to feel all of the emotions of the day, to witness the tears, laughter and excitement as they confirm their love to each other. I am very fortunate to be able to help make a difference.

FAQ
Luckily, there isn't!
That means you can select your own celebrant, be married in a location of your choice and hbe able to personalise the ceremony content.
The most important thing that all suppliers in the wedding industry will ask is, 'what date is the wedding?'
After you have selected your date, you can then start to approach venues, celebrants, photographers etc.
Yes, you will need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form with your celebrant. On the day that the celebrant receives this form and/or witnesses your signatures, you have to wait for one month before you can get married.
Ceremonies vary depending on the inclusions of the ceremony, what style of ceremony you are after and how many readings you may have included in the ceremony.
There is a 'quick' option that takes 5 minutes, a medium option around 11-15 minutes and a more personal option that will take around 20 minutes.

Get Expert AdviceIs it OK to ask a celebrant to wear a costume at our wedding?
Hello! I've read some responses to celebrants dressing in a matching style etc. Is it rude to ask if they wouldn't mind wearing a costume? I've read somewhere a couple got married by batman and then the obvious Elvis option.. I like the idea of an iconic character and think it would be something to remember but wouldn't want to offend anyone or make it a bad experience. TIA
Steven Murray Marriage Celebrant
Speaking for myself, no problem at all in wearing a costume to suit the theme of your wedding - it is your wedding so it is important to have everything as you wish it to be. It could be a bit weird if only the celebrant was in costume however. One thing to consider is the cost of the costume hire - in the past the couple have been happy to pay the hire fee.
Confusion around roles of matron of honour, maid of honor and who can be a witness with the best man
I have a Maid of Honor who is unmarried and a Matron of Honor who is married. I want my Matron to be a witness along with the Best Man. Even though she is married, can I have her as the Maid instead?
Steven Murray Marriage Celebrant
Anyone can be a witness as long as they are over 18 and able to understand what the celebant is saying (e.g. they speak English). These days there isn't really a distinction between Maid and Matron as most brides just use the term 'Maid' - regardless of marital status. You can still have her as your Matron of honour and be your witness.
Who writes the vows? Do we say them or have to repeat after the celebrant?
Steven Murray Marriage Celebrant
There are the official vows which must be said by the couple. In most cases the celebrant will ask you to repeat it after him/her. You can also do personal vows to each other (which I think is the best part of the ceremony). You can write them and bring them along yourself or send them to the celebrant who will print them out for you. I usually put the official vows on the bottom of your personal vows, so you can easily read them rather than do a repeat after me thing.
