I'm a bit alternative, and a bit high energy ... I love adventure racing, triathlon, mountain biking, kayaking, trekking, leaping off tall buildings (well out of aeroplanes anyway - with a parachute) and I am a true romantic at heart. That's why I love weddings! I am of the new generation of contemporary celebrants and I know that we all have different ideas on how we want to say our "I do's ..." and your wedding day should be unique to you, so I am here to help plan the perfect day for YOU

FAQ

How much notice do we need to give to get married?

30 calendar days. Shorter periods can be approved by a Magistrate however only in exceptional circumstances.

Will our wedding be legal if the ceremony is held on the beach or in our own home or garden?

Yes it is! It is the legal wording used by your authorised celebrant that makes if official, not the location.

After our wedding, do we get a Certificate of Marriage?

Yes you do! I will explain the process to you at our first meeting.

Can we write our own vows or do we have to say just the legal ones?

Absolutely you can write your own vows, and I encourage all of my couples to consider doing this ... even if they are just a few words about why it is your love each other, or why you want to marry.

Can we include our 'furry friends' in the ceremony?

Yes, yes, yes you can! I can give you a few tips to help make their inclusion easy for them AND easy for you :)

What are the most important things to include in wedding vows?

Hello and congratulations!

Well, as you can see by previous responses there are some mandatory requirements (by law) that must be included, but these are short. Everything else is entirely up to you ... you can add as much, or as little, as you wish.

This is a big, important and joyous day for you both, so it is your opportunity to remind each other of why you have decided to marry, and what it is that you love about each other. This could be a few tender words, a lovely reading or poem, or a story about how you found each other. Don't worry, you don't have to remember your messages off by heart. Your celebrant will either print them out for you, or prompt you of your words, or even read them for you (if that is what you wish). So check out some of the many websites, youtube video's and wedding blogs you can find on line for some inspiration ... the most important thing is that you both ENJOY your special day :)

Who can be our witnesses if we don't know anyone in Australia?

Hello there :)

Anyone that is over the age of 18 and can swear that they have heard you make your vows, and that the celebrant has delivered the Monitum (required by law) can witness your marriage.
