“I wish I could give Bernadette ten out of five stars for her role as celebrant at our wedding. From the moment we met, Bernadette was the utmost professional and was also a pleasure to be around. On the day, Bernadette helped with some of our setup and was so open to adapting to any changes that we wanted to make on the day. What's more, she is such a pillar of support and positivity and helped to keep us both smiling and happy through the nerves. Bernadette genuinely played a huge role in helping to make our day as special as it was, and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a warm and happy ceremony. We adore you, Bernadette, and thank you so so much! You were perfect!” — Sim + Nick.

About
I wasn’t always in the wedding world—my journey started in childcare, then at Sea Life (yes, I’ve rescued sea turtles!), but my true passion? Celebrating love! Melbourne-born, now Sunshine Coast-based, I’m a travel-loving, coffee-obsessed, pizza-and-pasta enthusiast. I rekindled an old flame overseas (now my hubby, Casey xx), got married, and have two beautiful girls. As a celebrant, I’m here to make your ceremony fun, relaxed, and 100% YOU!

FAQ
If you want to have a legal ceremony you need 1 months notice. You must fill out a notice of intended marriage (NOIM) and it needs to be signed 1 month before the big day with an authorised person (like myself!!!)
NOIM attached:
https://www.publications.qld.gov.au/dataset/32aa6b54-1309-4828-9221-80b77939f22d/resource/00a3c5cf-fc4f-4ab0-a559-6802d725362c/download/notice-of-intended-marriage.pdf
You can legalise the ceremony at a later date with two witnesses if you want to have a ceremony earlier than 1 month.
I have done this several times before, please get in touch if you wanted to chat about your options.
Sadly no, you need to apply for your legal marriage certificate with Births, Deaths and Mariages.
This is the Queensland link to BDM- Remmeber you need to apply in your own state.

Get Expert AdviceHow can I tell my sister her kids aren't invited to our wedding?
Hi there. We don't want to have kids at our wedding, but I also don't want to offend my sister. I adore my nieces but we want a particular vibe at our wedding. Any suggestions?
Ceremonies by Bernadette
I would find some local accommodation ideas and baby sitters and then address the "issue".
Telling her firstly you wont be having children and then following on with but, I have some great accommodation and baby sitting options so you can still bring them and they can be close by but can also get baby sat so you can let your hair down.
There are lots of reason you might not want children at your wedding so think of a few that might resonate with your sister to let her down easy.
I have children and know first hand that even if they are easy going kids, they will still be hanging off you, wanting food, sleep, drinks.. Having a child free wedding allows all parents t let their hair down for the night and make the most of their time away. Highly recommend (from experience).
