Our ceremony was fun and definitely not boring - unique to us, just the way we wanted it to be. She came up with a touching way to include our closest family in the ceremony and had some great ideas for us to choose from that she thought would enhance our ceremony. She was punctual, well presented, personable and professional!" Christine

FAQ

Vows are very personal and special.  You can make your Vows as long or as short as you want.

I will give you examples of Vows that you can use as a starting point.

I am here to help you express exactly what you want to say on the day so that it won't seem as hard as you might be thinking.

As part of my responsibilities to you, we will have a rehearsal.  I will take you through each element of the ceremony including timing your walk down the aisle so that you and your wedding party are comfortable and can then relax and enjoy your special day.

In your wedding package, I will provide the microphones, speaker and other equipment.  I use a 'Madonna" mic,  a hand-held mic for the couple plus a mic on a stand for the wedding guest doing a reading.  I will also provide the small table and pretty table cloth as well as two chairs for the signing of the register.

Weddings do need to have a Plan B.

Plan B takes into account serious weather problems and you will have decided prior where your ceremony will be held if this occurs.  On the day if needed, Plan B is put into action.

If the bridal party is delayed, we play additional music to keep the guests entertained and I allay the nerves  and reassure the one standing waiting at the altar.

I commit myself to your wedding on your day and do not have a time limit.   I arrive at least one hour prior to ceremony time and stay until after your cermony is completed.

My partner and I were overwhelmed and absolutely overjoyed with our entire experience working with Jacaranda ceremonies. Susan welcomed us with open arms, listened to our ideas intently and offered creative suggestions to ensure our special day was unique to us. From the early planning stages through to the actual ceremony, Susan's professionalism, deeply caring nature and attention to detail was amazing! Many of our guests commented on our wedding ceremony and the brilliance of our celebrant, who took the time to speak with guests and make everyone feel welcome and involved. Thank you Susan for taking such good care of us and ensuring our special day will always be one to remember. Best, Emma and Suzi Rodrigues

Is it possible to sign for a marriage but not register it until 4 months later

We have booked our church wedding but it is not an auspicious date for marriage in the Chinese calendar. My parents say it's bad luck to be married then. So we are organising a Chinese tea ceremony 4 months earlier on a good date, but my parents now want a celebrant to officiate and for us to sign and register then, but my bride doesn't want that date on our certificate. Can we sign, but not register it, and just wait for the church wedding to be officially married?

Jacaranda Ceremonies

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.
According to law in Australia, the Marriage Act 1961, the marriage must be registered by the celebrant immediately  (within 14 days maximum) with the date that you actually were married to Department of Birth, Deaths and Marriages in the State in which the ceremony took place. This date of marriage cannot be changed or left open.

I wish you both a wonderfully loving marriage and hopefully you will find a solution that makes you all happy by moving your Church wedding to a more auspicious date or your Mother understanding and accepting the legal date.

My wedding is next week and the nerves are creeping up! Any tips?

I'm getting married next week and I am getting SO nervous. My brain keeps going to worst case scenarios and I can't get my head right - what is the weather is shit, what if my dress isn't as nice as I thought, what if something goes wrong, what if the cake gets smooshed on delivery, what if the speeches are embarrassing, what if my pre-wedding tan is the wrong colour... I AM SPI-RAL-LING (to say the least). I've not really talked to my fiancé too much about it because I don't want to stress him out. I think it's just because of the time between having everything planned and now the day is finally around the corner I'm just reaaaally anxious! I'd love some tips to calm my nerves - I want to be excited, not one bad thought away from a panic attack! Thanks so much xxxx

Jacaranda Ceremonies

You may be married by now and I am sure it all went beautifully and huge congratulations.  If you are still to be married, all the family and guests at the wedding are there because they love you.  It is a day when everyone wants the best for you and are there to support you no matter if things aren't completely perfect and can laugh with you if there is a hiccup.  Big events aren't Hollywood - they are filled with real love and come together to celebrate you and your fiancé.   One of the significant calming features is when you do your rehearsal with your celebrant.  This gives you the opportunity to walk through the elements of part of your big day and know that you can be in that space on your wedding day and all will be ok.  Good luck and big hugs.

Emma

What should we be asking potential celebrants to make sure they're a good fit for us?

What are some of the things we need to consider or ask of a potential celebrant before we decide which one to go with?

Jacaranda Ceremonies

Wow! Congratulations on your engagement and now it's the exciting time planning your wedding.
Feeling comfortable and you like their personality and style of your Celebrant and knowing you are their priority is a good starting place.
Each provider will need to work with you to deliver your dream day and your Celebrant is the only one providing your ceremony so it is vital that you feel they will look after you to create your ceremony.

So if you have a date in mind or if you are flexible with your date; the elements of the ceremony they can suggest to make your ceremony unique; the equipment they use;  how they will help you write your vows and definitely if they provide a rehearsal.

Enjoy creating your ceremony. Hugs
