OVERVIEW

I love my celebrant role!

This is best reflected in my dedication to create a unique, personalised ceremony for you, backed up by excellent choreography and presentation.

Writing and delivering ceremony is my craft, but it's the celebrant/client journey and collaboration process along the way which, no doubt, creates those "epic feels" on the day!

My duty to create something truly magical and quintessentially you, on one of the biggest, most memorable days of your life is at the forefront of my mind, each step we take on this journey!

*Experienced, passionate and friendly service
*Outstanding presentation, creative writing and ceremony delivery
*Unique and personalised ceremony to suit you
*Appropriately dressed - Whether your wedding is formal or casual, I will always put thought into my attire
*High quality PA equipment

I look forward to meeting you – our first meeting is completely obligation-free.

FAQ

I have been a registered marriage celebrant since 2008 and have loved the celebrant/client journey journey with each and every one of my couples.

Writing and delivering ceremony is my craft, but it's the celebrant/client journey and collaboration process along the way which, no doubt, creates those epic feels on the day! I try and make this as easy as fun for you as possible with two meetings and by offering great resources!

Sure do! I have a passion for choreography & the finer details. I want you to be relaxed as you can on the day and I think running a thorough onsite rehearsal really benefits.

Check out my pics ... I think they reflect the quality choreography that can be achieved.

YESSSSSS!!! I love to travel - let's chat destination weddings.

Nathanael was a gem! He put HEAPS of effort into creating our perfect personalised ceremony and the day went off without a hitch (even with the addition of kids and animals). Nathanael has such care and love for his work and making the perfect ceremony. 100% recommend!

Nathanael was amazing, he always answered our queries no matter how big or small and all our guests commented on how great he was leading up to the ceremony as well as during! We felt like we had a good mate up there with us, Nathanael really helped us feel at ease which meant being able to enjoy the ceremony more! Cannot recommend you highly enough! ❤️

Question about marriage

Hi, I am in a long distance relationship with someone in the Philippines. We are looking to get married, but in the Philippines, you need to get your parents consent if you are under 21 and she is 19. If we were to get married in Australia, will she still need parental consent? The reason why we don't want her parents consent is because her mother is emotionally abusive, controlling and toxic. She will never consent to us getting married.

Nathanael Ditchburn

  • you must be at least 18 years old to be married in Australia unless a court has approved a marriage where 1 person is 16-18 years old

Friend conducting our ceremony

If I have a friend conducting my ceremony and a qualified celebrant there to do the legal parts, can my friend pronounce us husband and wife at the end?

Nathanael Ditchburn

Yes, the authorised celebrant can pronounce you husband and wife as that has no legal bearing.

When a marriage is being solemnised by an authorised celebrant, and the couple wants someone else to be centrally involved in the ceremony, the authorised celebrant should ensure that they have the following minimum role:

    • consent to be present at the ceremony as the responsible authorised celebrant
    • identify themselves to the assembled parties, witnesses and guests as the celebrant authorised to solemnise the marriage
    • be responsible for ensuring that the marriage ceremony is carried out according to law
    • say the words required by subsection 46(1) of the Marriage Act in the presence of the parties, the formal witnesses and the guests before the marriage is solemnised
    • be in close proximity to the ceremonial group or part of it, see and hear the vows required by subsection 45(2) and ensure that those vows comply with the requirements  of the Marriage Act
    • be available to intervene (and exercise the responsibility to intervene) if events demonstrate the need for it during the ceremony
    • receive and sign the papers required by the Marriage Act, including receiving the NOIM, and sighting the supporting documents each party is required to produce and sign the marriage certificates, and

·       register the marriage with the appropriate BDM as required under the Marriage Act

I want an outside wedding... in November... in Australia. How can I keep everyone cool?

The weather is expected to be very hot but we don't want to sacrifice our dream. We'd love to have our wedding outside and under the stars but we don't want even sweating off their makeup and hating the day.

Nathanael Ditchburn

Choose a ceremony location with shade, hire a marquee, or provide some unbrellas, although the latter doesn't look great in photos. Ensure you have some refreshments available i.e water bottles.

Tips from our specialists
