I'm a 48 year old single mum of 2 gorgeous kids Ned and Nina. I LOOOOOVVVVVEEE my job. I get to dress up and go to people's happiest day of their lives - every weekend. Who wouldn't love that!...I do this full time which means I do 2 to 3 weddings a week and I often now get to travel with my job to all parts of Australia which is one of my greatest passions. I'm addicted to coffee, swimming in the ocean baths, yoga and pilates, my kids, a good glass of red, nuts (the ones you eat) & travel.

Jules, your warm smile and positive nature alone was enough for us to know you were the celebrant for us! Your ability to see us for the couple we are meant that we had the wedding ceremony we always dreamed of. Something that is usually a challenge to navigate, you made SO easy and fun! The personalisation of our ceremony brought a real sense of depth and joy that radiated through the entire day and we are so pleased you made the trip to do this for us. Quite simply our wedding was perfect thanks to Jules. The ultimate package where Jules contacted our best friends for stories added so much depth to the service and friends are still talking about the service being the best they had attended with a celebrant. It was so beautifully crafted and woven together. Jules also had a lot of fun and that spread to the audience.. She was also our MC and what an MC, discrete but warm, subtle but in control and held the proceedings together at the right tempo for us. Amazing lady with so much genuine heart . It's so obvious that it's not just a job to her, she loves it!

Jules was absolutely amazing!! From the moment we met her it felt like we were old friends. She really took the time to get to know us so she could tell our story and make the ceremony more personal and unique to us which is exactly what we wanted. She even travelled to Victoria for no extra cost and was cheaper than other local celebrants!! Highly recommend!

How to choose bridesmaids?

I want to have bridesmaids at my wedding but I have no close girl friends or sisters that I am particularly close to. My daughter who will be 9 and my youngest sister (19) are all I have but neither live close by and neither are maid of honor material. What should I do?

Amanda I dont think it matters if the people you chose are 'maid of honor' material, whats more important is that you love them for who they are and they are the ones you chose to stand by you for one of the greatest moments of your life. I agree too wholeheartedly with what Klara McMurray - Funky Celebrant - you are no longer limited in traditions.......go with what you REALLY REALLY want rather tahn what you think it should look like or be.

Ps. I have a daughter same age - they are at the PERFECT age to be the best bridesmaid / flower girl you could ever ask for!

If I am getting married overseas, will my marriage be recognised in Australia?

or do I need to have a legal ceremony here too.

yes in most countries your mariage will be recognised here in Australia. However in many countries the process for registering marriages differs from the strict regulations we have here in Australia and often not even adhered to at all by the marrying officiant. Many couples fall into problems when they seek an official marriage document from certain countries and thus have all kinds of difficulties down the track proving that they are in fact married. My advice to you is if you want to have a ceremony overseas do the legal paperwork in Australia before or after the ceremony and only have a ceremony as a form of celebration and not actually legally marry overseas. That way you guarantee being on the Australian Births Deaths and Marriages Register and know that documents are legitimate and easy to access if need be. Good Luck.
