Maureen was such a pleasure to work with to make our special occasion one to remember. She was very prompt with our queries and requests. Maureen was very organized and gave so many great ideas to help us with making our ceremony personalized and intimate. We would recommend her to anyone thinking of eloping or planning their ceremony. Maureen was absolutely amazing! My husband and I clicked with Maureen immediately! She matched and understood our laid back vibe with a bit of cheek thrown in there so well and brought it so seamlessly into our ceremony. Maureen was so fantastic to work with, she made the whole process very easy and without any hassle. She had heaps of ideas and suggestions for us which helped make our ceremony one of a kind. All of gusts told us we had the best wedding they had been to and I believe that had a lot to do with Maureen.

May 2021

Maureen is absolutley amazing!! As soon as we met her, we felt comfortable and relaxed and like we had known her for years. This is the reason we chose to have her be our celebrant after meeting 3 others the same day, at a wedding expo. In the lead up, she was very helpful and caring. She even sent us a little gift on what would of been our original wedding date, but had to be postponed due to covid. She helps with every aspect from planning the ceremony to vows and adding in little personal touches. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much for everything , Maureen. - Alysia & Paul The ceremony was perfect.

August 2024

My partner and I decided to have a small intimate elopement in a state we don’t live with only 6 months to plan it, Maureen was our celebrant and she was so accommodating and helpful even when the distance made it hard, we had plenty of FaceTimes to get to know eachother and she just made the whole ordeal so easy I couldn’t recommend her enough. Thank you Maureen I appreciate you so much x

Hi there, I'd love some tips for dealing with unsolicited wedding advice.

I'm currently dealing with an overbearing MIL and would really appreciate some advice on how best to handle the situation. How would you suggest avoiding/dealing with unsolicited wedding advice from difficult family members?

Maureen Miles Celebrant

Hello

This is always fraught with danger. Think of wedding advice as a Smorgasbotd of tasty food, you delight with the display but will only select your very favourite things to eat. The same with advice appreciate the offering and then only pick your favourites. If they keep on maybe you need to tell them you love them to bits but you are really needing their support on what you have chosen.

Whatever happens this day is your, you and your partner. Good luck x

What's the best way to break up with a bridesmaid?

Our wedding isn't until 2024 but now I'm regretting asking my bridesmaids to be bridesmaids so early. There's one who's making me regret the decision but I don't want to burn our friendship. How can I approach this with her?

Maureen Miles Celebrant

Wow this is very difficult , but being honest is always a good way to go. Sounds like you value her friendship and she needs to know this, explain as you have said I was excited and wanted everyone involved now thinking about it I have changed my mind and together you and your partner believe that the ceremony should be like, your vision.

You could give her another role, but maybe let the dust settle before you make your offering. As you move into the new chapter of you and your partners lives, friends change, you change and your priorities are not always compatible with some friends.

Jasmine

How do I tell my dad I don't want him to walk me down the aisle?

It's a tricky one. We are on speaking terms, but we're not super close. I think he would expect that I'll ask him, but I really don't want to. It's so awkward. Would love some advice.

Maureen Miles Celebrant

Have the conversation sooner than later. Be clear about your wedding wishes, its going to be like this ... Consider giving him another role, witness and signing the legal paperwork for example.

Most fathers will support whatever their daughter wants, so know he will always love you no matter what happens at your wedding ceremony.
