Yvonne was lovely from our very first meeting a few months before the wedding. She wanted to learn as much about us, and our families, to make the ceremony as personal as possible. She pays great attention to detail, and guides you all the way through. She even provided a very resourceful booklet she's put together herself, that helps you navigate through the entire ceremony. She is the perfect blend of personal and professional, and I would thoroughly recommend her.

Where do I start. From the moment we met Yvonne we knew we wanted her to be the one to marry us. She is such a beautiful, bubbly, happy and professional lady who will do absolutely everything and more to make a perfect ceremony. She is so passionate and incredibly experienced. She was also incredibly accommodating and supportive with date changes due to COVID. We got married yesterday and have already had guests and suppliers commenting on how amazing she was. Nothing was ever to difficult and she is also incredibly responsive with communication. I could not recommend Yvonne highly enough, she will definitely make your ceremony a one to remember!

can i ask my celebrant to mention marriage equality during the ceremony?

You betcha we can - and most do!

It is just that one line in the Monitum (the legal statement that the celebrant must, by law, make early in the ceremony) that has the phrase that causes the most angst, and has the wording that precludes loving and committed couples, of the same sex, to legally marry.

Most celebrants would have a variety of wording to use as a disclaimer - ranging from a simple sentence, to several sentences (without making it a political statement as this is your wedding, not a politlcial forum).

I'm sure all caring celebrants would have that option available for you, and would be happy discuss any variations you would prefer.

This is a tough one as it often involves a degree of sadness ...

However, there are lots of beautiful options - mum, "other parent/s" brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, children, BFF, your fur-baby, and even - no-one!!

It's such a personal choice. I've seen some extremely poignant statements made by brides who have chosen to walk down the aisle on their own. It's been their way of saying - "I am Woman, Hear me Roar" - so to speak.

And having said all of that, it is totally up to you. Some brides enter with their groom! So just do whatever feels right for you. And chat to your celebrant. He or she will have just about seen it all, and will be warm and open to your thoughts - trust me - that's why you chose them :)
