Meet with your celebrant in person, ensure that they are committed to deliving a ceremony that is truly reflective of yourselves as a couple. Pricing alone should not be the only basis of your decision, as it is important that you can rely on your celebrant and get the very best outcome possible and trust them to take care of your special day!
Aside from your celebrant, you must have two witnesses 18 years or over. Anyone else over and above this is completely up to you!

I always include a rehearsal at no extra cost - this can be at the location of the wedding (if venue permits) or alternatively can be arranged anywhere else instead. I often recommend a rehearsal as it gives everyone a great idea of what to expect on the day and allows any unforseen issues to be ironed out well before the wedding day itself.
can i have a religious ceremony not in a church?

Your celebrant can definitely include things such as bible readings, hymns, prayers etc in order for your service to be religious. It is best to disuss with your celebrant directly to see what they can provide.

You should ask your celebrant what is included in their services and what they will do to ensure that the ceremony is a true reflection of yourselves as a couple
You should be able to communicate well with them, and they should listen to your requests and needs.
It would be a good idea to have a specific date in mind as some celebrants book out well in advance. I personally only take on one ceremony per day so that I can provide each couple with my undivided attention.
