OVERVIEW

Now, what do you want your ceremony to be like?

Most couples I work with want a marriage ceremony that is not too long, relaxed, a few laughs and memorable. But still thoughtful and respectful without making it boring for the guests, so let me help you with that!

My presentation style can be best described as a friendly professional ceremony, confident, engaging and enthusiastic with a few laughs, a few sobby bits and NO FUSS!

Well, maybe a little fuss.

How would you describe your ceremony?

I'd love to hear what your needs and expectations are so let's get together for a chat, and I will explain how I can help you in detail.

If you are still reading this, you have seen you read or heard something about me you like, and you have some questions. So get in touch and let's talk.

No need to be nervous, I am friendly, house trained and rarely bite.

It's not what a celebrant does; it’s how they do it that makes the difference.

About

My first full-time job was at 3KZ (now Gold FM) as an office and production assistant while studying to be a radio DJ. My on-air career never made it to fruition, and with two friends, I started a mobile DJ business in the mid-80s. After observing so many Celebrants while supplying the music at ceremonies, I realised that being a marriage Celebrant is what I was designed to do.

FAQ

My fee for a  wedding ceremony ranges in price depending on many factors, for the record they range from $550  for a  very basic registry style wedding to $ 1100. But it’s typically between $850 and $950 for ceremonies within Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.

Rehearsals are important not just so we can rehearse, It's another chance for us to spend time together and get to know each other. Also, I get to meet some of the bridal party and maybe parents. By having a rehearsal it will make you and your bridal party be much more relaxed on the day. So yes rehearsals are included in my fee, except for the basic registry style ceremony.

You probably have many questions to ask; and, I would welcome the opportunity to explain the full process and the costs for my services when we meet. If you are open to exploring the possibility’s, want to know how I can help you, and the creative process behind making your ceremony one that your guests will talk about happily, for years to come, then we should get together for a chat.

John was great. He was very professional with the legalities but most of all he made the whole experience so much fun. He provided good banter with family and friends before the ceremony, good laughs, calmed everybody's nerves (especially mine) and made our ceremony very special and unique. Thanks John! (P.S. he was also well priced, good value - I'd definitely recommend John to family and friends, cheers)

We met John at our first meeting and we knew straight away he was the celebrant for us. John's love for weddings and dedication to make your day special really reflects, he is very professional and listens to everything you want and makes wedding planning a breeze with his support and advice. We cannot thank you John enough for all the joy you bought us during the process and especially on our special day.

Could not more highly recommend John, he was professional and made the process very simple and was a lot of fun to work with before and on the day. Definitely a celebrant everyone should consider!

When I enquire with a celebrant, what should I be asking them>?

John Beck Marriage Celebrant

When you are planning a wedding, you want to be reassured that the Celebrant that you chose is reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable.

These questions will help you gauge the professionalism, reliability, and honesty of any Celebrant you are considering.

You may not need to ask all of them, just find the questions that are important to you!

1. How many weddings do they book in one day?

2.How many will they be performing on your wedding day?

3. How many other types of events do you do per year?

4. How do they manage the music for the ceremony?

5. How many times will we meet before the wedding for planning?

6. Do they require or include a rehearsal?

 7. What ideas can your share for making our ceremony more personalised?

8. How long before the ceremony will they arrive?

9. Do you have a written contract?

10. Do you have public liability insurance?

11. Do you belong to any professional Celebrant Associations?

12. What else do you do for a living?

Hope that helps, feel free to call me for a quick chat If you have any questions about anything.

How can I help my celebrant to provide a personal and fun service?

What's the best way for me to help my celebrant to provide a personal and fun service?

John Beck Marriage Celebrant

The more information you can give the celebrant the more they can help you. Your guests will have the most fun when they are ENGAGED and INVOLVED in your ceremony.

The best way to engage them is by sharing your love story and the interests, hobbies and quirks that make you who you are. If you have a sense of humor, play it up. The more laughs, the more engaged your guests become..., the more fun. Ask your celebrant for assistance and ideas.

How do I choose a celebrant that will suit my partner and I?

What is the best method for choosing the ideal celebrant?

John Beck Marriage Celebrant

First of all, STYLE, PERSONALITY, and PROFESSIONALISM are the biggest things to look for. You want to hire a celebrant you feel comfortable with, because the more comfortable you are, the more comfortable your guest will be.

The only way to find this out is by meet them, but don't overdo it, maybe meet 2, as it might get too overwhelming. One final bit of advice GO WITH YOUR GUT. It's that simple.
