Kate was incredible from the very beginning of our planning process, right through to months after our wedding was done. She helped us early on with well-informed advice, answered all of our (many) questions, and put us at ease. On our wedding day, Kate told our story beautifully, with humour and a few moments of happy tears. We've had multiple guests comment on how personal and lovely the ceremony was. Kate made sure that we were comfortable, and that the ceremony would reflect us first and foremost. She also did an excellent job MCing the reception for us afterwards, leaving us with very little to worry about! Lastly, Kate took care of all of the paperwork for us, and even followed up when our certificate went missing (not her fault). She was there for us every step of the way and I'd recommend her to any engaged friends without

Kate made our dream wedding come true! She was our celebrant for an intimate ceremony and guided us through the whole process with utmost professionalism and care. She has tons of helpful information and tips on her website available for clients and gave us her time and support through Zoom meetings and an in-person rehearsal at the venue. We felt reassured that everything would go smoothly - and it all did! So many guests complimented how great Kate was and we would not hesitate to recommend her to all our unmarried family and friends!

Should we have signs at our ceremony to leave the front row vacant for immediate family?

I was thinking maybe this is tacky, but then maybe it's necessary. (Or am I really just overthinking it?) Someone suggested that this is the role of the celebrant - to ensure that it's family in the first row. Is that generally true?

Morgan

In my experience in marrying over 250 couples I find that seat placements are rarely used or needed. Most guests are very respectful about leaving room for the family to sit down. In fact it can be a difficult job to get anyone to sit down!! I would put your time and energy into more important tasks and simply ask your celebrant to keep an eye on seating if you are worried.

Good luck with your wedding!!!!! x

Civil marriage in melbourne... is it possible?

hi, My self a Muslim & my girlfriend is Hindu. I live in Melbourne on aus pr visa & my GF lives in the USA on a work visa. we are planning to get married in Melbourne. please advise what is the best way to marry her in Melbourne without any religious marriage. I can contact you personally too discuss more abt my scenario.

Morgan

Hi - yes you can definitely get married in a civil ceremony if you are over 18 years of and are not married to anyone else already!

In order to get married in Australian you will need to fill in the Notice of Intended Marrigae, which I can email you and appoint a Celebrnant at least one month before your wedding date (not earlier that 18 months before.)

For further information, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Warmest regards

Kate

have anyone ever done a same sex civil ceremony?

located in melb

Morgan

YES! I am a huge supporter of marriage equality.

In fact, I see the LBGTI as my own community, having grown up with gay parents, myself.

I love working with same sex couples to create a really meaningful ceremony. And I include in my package the legal lodgement of marriage documentation. Personally, I am convinced that it's just a matter of time before marriage is available to all Australians over the age of 18, so I will be there first in line to legalise your marriage, when the time comes.

I always ask, why wait for someone to tell you it's OK to make that commitment?

Tips from our specialists

Just need a quote?
It helps to provide...

  • Your contact details
  • Mention your wedding date
  • Ask if they are able to provide a PA/microphone if necessary
  • We highly recommend organising to meet your celebrant in person if possible
