Most marriage celebrants perform an average of six weddings a year. This is because it is very competitive and there are so many celebrants to choose from. In less than 3 years as a registered marriage celebrant I have performed over 60 weddings already. I believe this is because I absolutely LOVE my job. I feel it's an honour and a privilege to be in my position. I also thoroughly believe in making your wedding reflect your personality as much as possible. I want your day to be YOUR day.
***SPECIAL OFFER*** read below.
I have been very fortunate to have conducted many weddings outside of my home state of Victoria. Even though I have been a registered celebrant for less than three years I have already officiated weddings in WA, SA, QLD and NSW. My business has taken off quite astronomically. The only territories I have not conducted a wedding in yet have been NT and ACT.
In light of this I am making a very exclusive offer to anybody wishing to have a wedding in the NT or ACT. I am offering 50% of my normal fee. That's right, 50%!! Please get in touch if you want more details.
About
I absolutely LOVE my job. I feel it's an honour and a privilege to be in my position.I also thoroughly believe in making your wedding reflect your personality as much as possible. I want your day to be specifically YOUR day. There is so little in an Australian civil marriage that is compulsory, therefore I think it’s important that you include only the elements that are meaningful to you. This might mean a low key wedding, a high key wedding or something in in between!

Get Expert AdviceDoes the celebrant have to do the whole "how they met" story?
I feel like that might be awkward for us. We are a super stong and stable couple now, but when we met we still had a lot of growing up to do (we were teenagers, and broke each others hearts.) We had a huge falling out and reconnected later. It was very messy and all of our fam and friends know that. Do we have to go into that when our life is so beautiful NOW, and has been for years now?
Marry Me Sean - Civil Marriage Celebrant
Most definitely not. The beauty of civil marriage in Australia is that you do your wedding YOUR way. A good celebrant will do everything they can to facilitate this. It is definitely possible to tell your story but leave out the details they you don't think paints a good picture of where you are now. It's all in way it's told.
How many weddings do you book in per day?
Are celebrants usually doing one per day? or two on some days? How is this possible?! haha
Marry Me Sean - Civil Marriage Celebrant
I have done two weddings in a day. It's not common but it is entirely possible to do and give your all to both. But I would only do it if there were at least 3 or 4 hours between the ceremonies and they were in the same area. In the cases I have done it the earlier ceremony has been in the morning or at midday and the later ceremony has been at 5 or 6pm. In one hectic weekend last year I performed 4 ceremonies in one weekend! And they were ALL amazing.
do you think its important to go with a vendor who is same-sex friendly?
If that aligns with your beliefs
Marry Me Sean - Civil Marriage Celebrant
Personally I think it's vital. Consider this. If you have around 100 guests at your wedding, chances are that at least 5 of those will be gay and that number could well be much higher. I would imagine that you woudn't want any of them to be made to feel not welcome by any of your chosen vendors. Personally I am a very strong believer in marriage equality. For me it doesn't have anything to do with politics and is really just a basic issue of human equality and granting the same rights to all. As a marriage celebrant I am very passionate about this issue and very much looking forward to being able to legally conduct same sex marriages in this country.
Wishing you the most wonderful wedding day.
