OVERVIEW

No one wants a ceremony that has all their guests yawning so let me create a wedding ceremony that’s laid-back, engaging and a true reflection of your relationship.  I capture all the little things that make you who you are as a couple in a boutique ceremony that will be remembered for all the right reasons.

As a full-time celebrant since 2014 I do a wedding or 3 most weeks which means I can spend as much time as we need to craft your perfect ceremony. You, your relationship and your love story are unique.  Your love deserves the best on this most special of days.  For a memorable & fun wedding ceremony, you need the best celebrant you can find, and of course you're found her!

As a certified Master Celebrant, I'm a pro writer & talker, so I'm confident, engaging, and know how to hold an audience.  I have the life experience to bring the perfect balance of sincerity & humour to your ceremony, and the vibrancy to make it an experience to remember.

If you want to twist or flick some traditions, we can dodge the stale ones you don't want & even create your own, all without upsetting Nan!

I live in the Hunter Valley NSW & do most of my work in our vineyards & around Newcastle but I'm available 24/7 throughout NSW, across Australia, and even overseas. Always happy to travel but my availability is limited because of forward bookings. The opportunities are endless though, as this isn't a hobby or a part-time gig around my 'real' job. This is it - I'm here to make you happy by being THE celebrant for your dream day.

You deserve a wedding ceremony that reflects you, your love, and what you believe in. I can help you achieve your dream on the day. I hope to hear from you soon!

About

As a full-time celebrant since 2014 I do a wedding or three most weeks as well as lots of funerals. All are incredibly special to me as they're amongst the most important times in a person's life. With a background in events, I know that detail is everything - you need experienced professionals at your wedding! And you should know I'm old enough to have been married for over 20 years (to the same fella!) but young enough to NOT own a floral jacket or a name badge...

Rach was absolutely awesome! She was so easy to work with throughout the whole process. She gave us loads of helpful hints, tips and tricks throughout the process and on the day, she really helped to put me at ease (and I really, really needed that! :)) The ceremony she delivered was personalised and entertaining. Several of our guests have already commented on how brilliant they thought she and the ceremony were. Highly recommended!!

Rachel made our ceremony to fit our personalities so perfectly. She had a lovely relaxing nature and her guidance was golden. Our ceremony was relaxed, lighthearted and full of so much love. She was amazing and I would highly recommend her.

Do you ask people to give toasts or is it spontaneous... do you warn people at all?

Rach Michael Boutique Celebrant

It's a good idea to ask people for a couple of reasons:

They can prepare something (remember the #1 fear people have is public speaking - though a few bevvies often loosens peoples couragae!) or they can decline if they would be too nervous.

You can ask people you know won't go on forever...

You can ask people who won't do something silly & embarass you (I've seen it happen & it's not great for the rest of your wedding...)

Lastly if you open up the floor for anyone to make a toast at your reception , you could be there for a LONG time.

Hope this helps!

Help! I need vows help, I honestly have no idea what to say! I love her. What else should I say?

I asked my friends and they said it'd come to me. It hasn't. I am freaking out!!!

Rach Michael Boutique Celebrant

Yes it can freak people out - most couples have never done this before! Firstly, start taking notes now. Start a note in your phone, and when something pops into your head, jot it down. So you'll have things like: loves animal/generous/family important/gorgeous smile/adventurous spirit....

Then I tell my couples to look back to what attracted them in the first place - first time you saw each other/how you courted/how you got to know each other

Then move to what made you decide you wanted to marry & be together forever. The qualities, quirks, personality, attributes you love.

Lastly think about where you want to go together in your relationship, what you look forward to in your future together.

Breaking it down into these 4 simple frames makes my couples take a sigh of relief knowing they just have to put these things together. Beautiful!

How long would I require a celebrant for?

Generally, when couples book a celebrant how long do they book them for?

Rach Michael Boutique Celebrant

Hi Lucy,

One of the first things most of my couples say is that they don't want a long & boring ceremony - and of course it shouldn't be that way! Having your guests staring at the ceiling during your service isn't exactly a great start to your wedding day. You can have a personalised & intimate yet fun & engaging ceremony without the blah blah blah if you've chosen a celebrant with personality & experience.

You're booking your celebrant from the time you say yes to them, to the time you say yes to your one true love. Look for a celebrant who will give you unlimited access to them during the lead-up to your wedding. If you haven't done this wedding thing before, you're bound to have a few questions. On the day, I arrive about 45 minutes prior to your ceremony and stay until everything is done - usually around 1/2 hour after you've tied the knot.

Every couple (& every celebrant) is different. If you find the right celebrant for you, your ceremony will be as long as you want. If you had just the legal bits, your ceremony could be done & dusted in 5 minutes, but to make it personal, engaging, romantic, fun, memorable & all the good stuff, you would be looking at around 1/2 an hour.

I'm a Sydney celebrant Lucy but always happy have a good reason to visit Melbourne. Let me know if you'd like to chat! 0402 466699
