OVERVIEW
If the thought of your guests yawning through your wedding ceremony gives you the shivers, then you'll love Jeanne-Clare of Ardent Celebrations.
This Melbourne-based marriage celebrant, dance teacher, and MC isn't your usual celebrant; she's much more lively and entertaining — there'll be no stuffy, overly formal ceremonies with Jeanne-Clare at the helm.
This captivating persona was honed through years of performing on comedy stages and an improv course, making Jeanne-Clare incredibly skilled in public speaking. As such, she's also an engaging, entertaining MC, and will delight and inform your guests in equal measure.
A natural wordsmith, Jeanne-Clare will ensure your fun, emotional wedding ceremony is an accurate reflection of you both, and will also — of course — reflect your wishes, journey, and beautiful love for one another.
"JC was the MC (yep MCJC) at our wedding, and she was amazing. Not only did she keep our wedding fun and fresh, but she also helped James with writing his vows. He was really nervous about them, and JC was amazing. JC totally got what we were asking for, nailed the high energy and fun mood we wanted, and kept our friends talking about our wedding months later. She's a legend!" — Laura

About
My love of weddings was kick-started on April 9th 1994, the first wedding I ever went to. Joy, family, food, and fun times on the dance floor. BLISS! As someone with a name that is difficult to pronounce, you can be assured that I’ll get yours right! I grew up and spent most of my life living in the inner-north (Brunswick and Thornbury before they were cool) and moved for love to the Yarra Ranges shire in December 2020 with my wonderful partner, and now husband, Ashley.

FAQ
Nope! All of my prices include use of my PA system for the duration of the wedding ceremony.
Sure do! I love sticking around to MC the party afterwards. You can also just book me to MC if you've already found a celebrant.
Of course! I'm a firm believer that if you can walk you can dance. My lessons are tailored to your skills. No matter what, I'm going to make you look like superstars!
If you've read this far and you're keen to know more, please get in touch via your favourite contact platform. There may be some delays with owls or carrier pigeons. If we have a bit of a chat and you say "I do" to my services, then we get the ball rolling by getting some boring stuff out of the way:
Then it's time for the fun stuff! Getting to know you better through questionnaires and conversations to put together the BEST day for you both!
If I am struck down with everyone's least favourite C-word then I will find a replacement celebrant for your big day. They will read the script that you have already approved so there won't be any crazy surprises. You also won't have to deal with additional payments. That will all happen in the background between me and my replacement.
Your wedding won't be able to go ahead on the planned day. I know, it sucks. I will work with you both to find a different date or help transfer the ceremony to a different celebrant if I am booked. I do not charge any additional fees if you or your fiancé can't make your own wedding due to a stay-at-home order. All mama-bear JC can really advise is to stay safe in the lead-up to your wedding and eat your veggies.

It was wonderful putting it together in addition to teaching you both for your first dance. Through our lessons together I really got to know you both better and see just how in love you are. Wonderful people like you are the reason why I love my job so much. Thank you! :)

If I have a friend conducting my ceremony and a qualified celebrant there to do the legal parts, can my friend pronounce us husband and wife at the end?
Ardent Celebrations
Yes :)
The pronouncement is not a legal part of the ceremony. Provided your celebrant says the Monitum (Celebrant Authority) in front of your and your two witnesses and does all of the paperwork, your friend can do everything else.
What should we be asking potential celebrants to make sure they're a good fit for us?
What are some of the things we need to consider or ask of a potential celebrant before we decide which one to go with?
Ardent Celebrations
Any "good fit" is going to be different depending on what you're after for your ceremony.
If a potential couple asked me to describe one of my favourite ceremonies as a celebrant and why, I think it would give the couple an accurate idea of what my vibe is like and if I'd be a good fit for them.
