If you don't live on the Gold Coast but are having your wedding in the area and would like me as your celebrant no worries! We can have our meetings via Skype or phone and I can still help you fill out your NOIM and inform you of what steps need to be taken as the time approaches, everything else will be taken care of the same as if you were here.
I do. I have a larger and smaller PA and mic set for different situations. And of course! If you send me the links/music choice, I will download your chosen songs to a playlist and play them through my PA system throughout the ceremony. Often you will have 3 songs, an arrival of the bride song, a song during the signing of the certificate and an exit song.
I offer a mic and PA system set-up along with a signing table and chairs (together with some top fillers/decorations should you choose) and signing pen if you wish to use these. I will also give you your weddng certificate on the day along with a ceremony gift book with your personalised ceremony printed up inside. All paperwork will be sent registered post the day after your wedding and I will check you have everything you need after the ceremony including information about changing your name (if you wish) and getting a new passport.
I'd be happy to help. Do you want to write your own vows, or read the legal ones, not sure? I can help you by either sending you some different vow examples/sentence starters you can use, mix and match or use for inspiration when writing your own original ones.... or you can start from scratch and I can proof read them to ensure both brides and grooms are of similar length and you are on the same page. (One hasn't written a novel and the other two lines, or one hasn't written a comedy and the other a romantic drama).
No - absolutely not, but if you do wish to within 12 months of marrying it is free to change your name on your passport, although changing your name is entirely up to you. To change your name, you take your official marriage certificate to Queensland transport (or local motor registry) and Medicare etc to do this, it is not automatic.
You must get council approval before marrying on a beach and you need to sign the ‘Service Agreement’ with your celebrant. If you are wanting to get married anywhere public, you should always contact your local council and book the space, keeping a copy of this handy in case of any problems on the day. You should think about a back up (in-case of rain) location if marrying outdoors, within 10-15km of the original destination, may even be a rotunda at a local park, you may need to book also. Check with outdoor approval/local spaces if you are allowed to amplify the sound (use a PA/speaker system) - your celebrant can help advise you on all of this.
If you want to get married overseas but want it legal here, you can be married here legally then go overseas and do a commitment ceremony. If you do marry overseas, it will be recognised (just not registered) but you can not be married in 2 separate countries. You can apply to Births, Deaths and Marriages to change your name legally. This making your marriage recognised through change of name.
Sure can. If you want to get married at sea, the location of where your marriage took place is the port where the boat came from – e.g Airlie Beach Marina.
I can marry anyone from any country/culture, not only Australian residents, you can be an overseas visitor but if you are only in Australia for a limited time, you must submit paperwork from overseas within the timeframe required.
