FAQ
This is a common question. Most couples believe that their witnesses must be one of the Bridal Party.
This is not the case. Your witness can be anyone over 18 you wish to involve in your ceremony.
Think about your asking your grandparents or parents.Perhaps both grandmothers or mothers?
This makes for a very special wedding moment by including a grandparent who would not normally have a role in the ceremony. It will have all of your guests reflecting on the beauty of family. It will have the parents or grandparents shedding tears of pride and joy.
You sign your current legal name as it appears on the marriage certficates and the Notice of Intended Marriage.
Traditionally , the person walking you up the aisle will be on your right hand side.
Picture a gallant swords person walking you up the ailse waving a sword in defence of your honor and saftey as you approach your partner. The left arm would be holding your arm, the right arm would be hold the sword.
Your engagement ring can be worn on your right hand during the ceremony and your partner can move it to your left hand as part of the ring giving element in your ceremony.
No, the commemorative certifcate you receive will not be accepted as proof to legally change your name after the ceremony. You need your Legal Marriage Certficate .
I offer the service to my couples, of applying for your Legal Marriage Certficate when I register your marriage with Births Deaths and Marriages.
Yes! most definately. A rehearsal is a great idea as it calms everyones nerves ,allowing everyone to visualise and practice all the movements in the ceremony. Its the opportunity to check the music is long enough for all to walk down the aisle.
How and who will cue the start of the music when the bridal party arrive. Where will the participants stand who are reading a poem or reading. How will the giving away unfold.Where will the signing table be and how will you and your witnesses move to it.

Get Expert AdviceDo any modern couples still include the opportunity to object during a wedding ceremony?
Curious about this and how it would be done well.
Jean Marie A Celebrant to See.
In Australia before a marriage takes place ,the couple are required under the Marriage Act to complete a document refered to as the DECLARATION OF NO LEGAL IMPEDIMENT TO MARRIAGE.This document is the couples declaration that their is no legal reason why they should not marry. There is no reason then to ask the question during the ceremony. This information would be explained by the celebrant to the couple.
Which wedding traditions can you skip at your wedding?
Jean Marie A Celebrant to See.
Hi
your wedding ceremony should be a reflection of who you and your partner are.
The traditional elements in a ceremony are your choice to include or not include.
As long as the legal requirements are included ,that is the monitum, minimum vows and signing of the legal certificates with two witnesses present, the rest of the ceremony is yours to weave the magic.
A great celebrant will take you through the elements and traditional components of the ceremony and taylor make it to meet your desires.
