FAQ

What paperwork do I need to sign before and immediately after our marriage is solemnised?

*The NOIM (Notice of Intending Marriage) needs to be completed ( with the support & guidance of your chosen celebrant) no less than 1 month before the wedding date and no more than 18months before.

*Declaration of No Legal Impediment ( at the Rehearsal is a convenient time to sign and check all details are correct)

* At the ceremony, 3 certificates are signed.

Within 14 days of the ceremony, the celebrant will send the offcial certificate of marraige,declarations of no legal impediment and the NOIM ( with any supporting documents) to the Registry of Births, Deaths,and Marriages in that state.

Do we really need to have face to face meetings with the celebrant?

Yes. It is so important to have face to face meetings with your celebrant . It can be harder for the couple's individual personalities to shine through if most of the "conversations" are text or email. For a more personalised approach, two or three catch ups can be invaluable in develpong a rapport and building a relationship which will be reflected in the interations between the couple and celebrant at the ceremony, making it an even more special and memorable occasion.
