About
I'm a lover of variety! In addition to my role as a celebrant of all-life ceremonies (not just weddings but rites of passage, funerals, baby namings and graduations) I am a mushroom farmer, a drummer, a writer and a social enterprise consultant. In everything I do it's all about following my bliss and cherishing the journey. Raised in Melbourne's inner-north, I spent five years building up community orgs and businesses in Geelong, and now live in Warrnambool with my wonderful partner Ruby.

FAQ
Yes! Absolutely! Of course! It’s 2024! Sadly, however, it’s not a stupid question, and I hope one day it won't need to be said.
Yes, I completed a Certificate IV in Celebrancy in 2024 and hold a current registration with the Attorney General of Australia as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
Yes, I can supply a PA and wireless microphones for an additional fee. It’s my preference that someone else cues the desired music for the ceremony but I will work closely with them to understand the script and ensure everything goes smoothly. I have copyright cover for any music used in the ceremony as well.
Yes! I love MC’ing receptions and all kinds of events. It makes for a wonderful experience for me to facilitate proceedings for the entire day, so I really enjoy it.
That depends. If you’re keen to craft a personalised ceremony we will have as many meetings as you need to create an authentic expression of love and commitment that feels like you. If you’re after a simpler ceremony we will usually have two meetings to organise paperwork and discuss the ceremony. These can be face-to-face or online.
All bookings involve a 50% booking fee and the balance is due in the week of the ceremony. Check out my pricing at tomallencelebrant.com for more info.
The Marriage Act stipulates that a Notice of Intended Marriage must be completed, witnessed and submitted to an Authorised Celebrant at least one month prior to the date of intended marriage. There are some circumstances where a shortening of time can be granted, but these are quite specific. Get in touch if you’re uncertain and we can talk about it!
Yes, absolutely. All you need for a valid marriage is an Authorised Celebrant and two witnesses. Get in touch and we can talk about the specifics.
I love a good adventure and am happy to travel Australia-wide for weddings pending discussion of travel expenses… my first wedding was in Tasmania! While I live in Warrnambool and mostly practice in South West Vic, I know lots of people all over Victoria and beyond, so I can often find people to stay with when working away from home. Overseas weddings are another story, get in touch and we can discuss specifics.
