OVERVIEW
So many couples who contact me would love a Christian Wedding Ceremony, not just a legal statement, but something truly meaningful that expresses their love for one another and their commitment before God to do life's journey with this special person.
I can even pray for you during the ceremony and ask that God join your lives together so "the two shall become one".
Craig Anderson is a Christian minister and has been a celebrant for over 40 years. He loves to see and be apart of that moment when two lives are joined together.
Craig can help you to make a great start by excellent planning, showing you how to find your true heart message to share with each other in the ceremony and if you would like; providing you with a Pre-Marriage education course as well.
He would love to help you make it a truly memorable and meaningful day for you both.
Get in touch to begin the journey of your new lives together.
About
Often I find that priests and pastors are only able to marry people from their own church. This local church (Infinity Church) has a ministry to provide marriage services for those who do not have a church of their own at present or maybe their own pastor does not have marriage credentials or you're from out of state and want to get married in Melbourne or Victoria; then we can provide a beautiful Christian service for you.

FAQ
Yes, no problem. I can perform your ceremony anywhere you want. In a Park, Garden, on a boat, in a home, in an old church, or historic venue. (No skydiving please!)
Usually I will meet with you twice. The first time we sign the Notice of Intention to Marry Form (NOIM) This must be done a minimum of one month and one day before the wedding. Then we will meet onece more nearer the wedding day to run through the ceremony details.
Yes, for sure! You can write your own vows. There is only a requirement that the vows contain words to the effect that you promise a life long committment. Apart for that you can say anything you like! I will guide you with help on this if you need it.
I ask that couples make a deposit of $150 to secure the date with me. The balance is payable any time up until a week before the wedding.
All the Legal Stuff……..
1. The first document we sign is called the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) This must be signed at least a month before the wedding day. It must be witnessed by the celebrant or a police officer or a doctor, lawyer or pharmacist. (see you copy in the folder called – YOUR FORMS TO FILL OUT.
2. Just before the wedding, we will sign a document called Declaration of No Legal Impediment – which is a statutory declaration saying that you both do not know of any reason why you can’t get married (in particular, you are not married already to another person, you are not related to each other, you are old enough) – Every couple getting married in Australia must sign this before the wedding ceremony. We normally do this at the last in-person meeting.
3. At the ceremony we will sign two marriage certificates. One for you to keep (it’s a decorative one) One that I keep, and I send a scan of it to the Dept. of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
On the day after the wedding, I upload the marriage certificate, the original Notice of Intention to Marry Form (NOIM) and the Document of No Legal Impediment to the Dept. of Births Deaths and Marriages,
The real Legal Certificate for your use…..
The Marriage certificate that I provide for you on the wedding day is a decorative one and you keep it and frame it or whatever you like. But it’s not a legal document. To obtain a proper legal marriage certificate either:
1. I can order you one when I upload your wedding documents (Cost = $62.30)
2. OR, you can apply to the Registrar of births deaths and marriages at this link – https://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/marriages-and-relationships/get-a-marriage-certificate
It takes about 4 weeks to get a certificate after the lodgement of papers.
You will need a legal marriage certificate if you want to change your name on a bank account or passport etc. You will not be notified of its availability until you order one. If you want a legal marriage certificate then let me know if you want me to order it or you can go online anytime later and order one. You can do that anytime but the earliest time to receive it will be a month from the wedding date.
You will be fully legally married from the moment we all sign the papers on the day.
I do all the lodgement of papers – you don’t need to do anything. Just request a legal certificate if you need one at the BDM website.
Hope this is clear and helps,
Looking forward to seeing you
Blessings,
Craig Anderson

Expert Advice
As a wedding professional, Christian Weddings Melbourne offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.
Get Expert AdviceI am a terrible public speaker. How can I get ready for my wedding ceremony?
Hi there. Was hoping for some advice on how to tackle ceremony nerves so I can get through my vows. I really want to write my own vows but have always been terrible at speaking in front of crowds. What can I do ahead of time and on the day?
Christian Weddings Melbourne
Most of my couples allow me to lead them in the reciting of their vows.
I think this is best as then you can look your partner in the eyes as you make this really important promise. You don't need to remember anything, just let the celebrant lead you through by saying three or four words and you repeat after them. Often in my weddings the celebrants voice is not amplified but the voice of the bride and groom are spoken into a microphone so that what you say is heard much more than the celebrants initial version.
So your only task then is to write the vows that you feel best express you love and committment to your partner. In this task the only legal requirement is that there s a committment to a life-long relationship.
What's the best way to break up with a bridesmaid?
Our wedding isn't until 2024 but now I'm regretting asking my bridesmaids to be bridesmaids so early. There's one who's making me regret the decision but I don't want to burn our friendship. How can I approach this with her?
Christian Weddings Melbourne
Obviously your friendship with her is important. So you want to protect that, yet ask her to change from being a bridesmaid to not being a bridesmaid. Do you want her to attend the wedding? If yes, then what is she good at? Is there a role she can play that is different? For example decorate the ceremony venue or the receoption space or reception tables. Or is there a role involving co-ordinating the photographer's role and all the family shots? If you can find a role that actually suits her, your task then is to truly value her in that role and say that the new role will be a much bigger help to you than the bridesmaid role.
How do I tell my dad I don't want him to walk me down the aisle?
It's a tricky one. We are on speaking terms, but we're not super close. I think he would expect that I'll ask him, but I really don't want to. It's so awkward. Would love some advice.
Christian Weddings Melbourne
Hi Dad,
I'm so glad that you're coming to my wedding. This is a modern wedding, and we will be doing things a bit different to what used happen in the old days. I will be coming down the aisle but by myself. This is quite common these days. I'm coming down the aisle to meet the love of my life as an independent young woman who is making the desicion for herself and not so much as someone who is being "given away". I hope you can unsderstand this and enjoy being a part of this wedding. Times they are a changing!
