About

You know when you have that light-bulb moment about something? Well that was me back in the early 2000s when a work colleague told me that she was getting married and would be using a celebrant. This was the moment when I thought, "oh, that sounds like a lovely thing to do' and after studying and becoming qualified it became a reality! I've performed all sorts of weddings over the years and have found that I gravitate towards the smaller and more intimate ceremonies that I now specialise in.

FAQ

My experience tells me that a micro ceremony would be up to ten people and a small ceremony would be up to about thirty people.

Absolutely! The way it works is that I will perform the essential legal elements and the family friend or member can perform the other parts of the marriage ceremony.

I only ever perform one marriage ceremony on any given day to ensure that I give all of my care and attention to your ceremony.

My daughter is being married in 12 months time . Am I able to become competent in that time to perform her wedding?

Martin Ormond Celebrant

If you take a look at the Attorney-General's Department website it describes the process you need to go through to become an authorised marriage celebrant. Depending on how you feel about that, you may choose to consider the other option to co-present the wedding ceremony with an authorised celebrant who will be responsible for the essential legal elements. You can then perform the other parts of the ceremony. Best of luck with your choice. Martin.
