Hi lovers. I’m a Melbourne/Narrm-based marriage celebrant with a self-proclaimed knack for storytelling and bringing people together. I’m about celebrating love in all its mushy forms. My journey into the world of celebrancy began when my best friend asked me to officiate her wedding in India back in 2023. The experience of sharing their story and witnessing their love was incredible. It felt like the perfect blend of my passions for storytelling and public speaking – a match made in marriage!

What is a micro wedding?

A micro wedding is a small, intimate wedding ceremony with no more than 30 guests. Micro weddings are designed for couples who are opting for a more simple ceremony or to save costs on certain aspects of the wedding overall. My micro wedding inclusions cover just the basics and all the legals so you can concentrate on getting straight to the party.

How do I write my wedding vows?

With a blank piece of paper and a whole lot of love. Look, everyone begins the writing process differently, and you don’t have to be Shakespeare to write what’s in your heart. Stay true to yourself and the words will flow. Of course, I’m here to help with writers block and can assist you in putting in to words what you’ve always wanted to say.

What is Marriage Equality?

The right to marry in Australia is no longer determined by sex or gender. On 9 December 2017, the Marriage Act 1961 was updated to allow for marriage equality. The Act defines marriage as 'the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life'.

I’m so proud to have campaigned for Marriage Equality as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community. Talk to me about how you’d like to incorporate any inclusive elements in to your ceremony.

Do you travel for weddings?

I do! As I’m based in Melbourne, my fees include travel within 40km from home. A Commonwealth-registered Marriage Celebrant can marry couples in any location in Australia. Extra fees and charges will apply, but we can cover that off in my terms and conditions during our meetings.

Darren was an absolute dream to work with as our wedding celebrant and MC. From the minute we started planning he took the time to get to know us and our story, asking fun, creative and beautiful questions throughout - making the process enjoyable and a special opportunity to reflect on our relationship to date. At the ceremony, we were absolutely blown away! Darren brought together all the aspects of our story, weaving emotion and the perfect amount of humour throughout. We had a cross-cultural wedding (Indian and Australian), and a number of guests had a limited understanding of English (and hadn't been to a Western Ceremony before!) - Darren had them laughing, crying and then laughing again. He spoke so eloquently and emotively and created the perfect space for all of our guests to share such a special experience. He was also super helpful at offering ideas when we couldn't decide how to share our personal vows! Darren is warm, kind and funny, he has a passion for inclusivity and helping couples share their special love story in a tailored unique and personal way. We'd wholeheartedly recommend Darren to any couple looking for a fabulous celebrant (and MC) who will elevate their special day and make it even more memorable and fabulous!!
