As an experienced Marriage Celebrant having conducted hundreds of ceremonies I love what I do! A full time Celebrant I get to meet and chat with such a diverse range of lovely people, so happy that they are to be married. Every ceremony I perform is different and unique because the couples I am assisting are themselves unique! Marriage celebrancy is what I do!

Judy made organising our wedding ceremony very easy, especially as we are not living in Canberra. She provided a wealth of information about weddings, was thoughtful and very practical. what questions should i ask my celebrant when i meet with them?

Can the celebrant help you with any special requirements you might want for your wedding ceremony e.g gift giving; a tea ceremony; including family and friends in ceremony, hand fasting etc etc;
Do they have other ceremonies on the same day that will impact on your timing of your wedding?
Will they travel to your chosen venue if it's out of town? If so do they charge extra for travel?
Can we write our own ceremony (if that's what you want to do)
Your celebrant should automatically give you a handout or talk to you about what they include in their fee without you having to ask them. They should also include information to assist you put togther your ceremony or work with you to compose your ceremony - without you having to ask.

pros and cons of outdoor ceremonies vs indoor? do indoor have to be religious?

Hello Bride. No, indoor ceremonies do not have to be religious. You can hold your wedding almost anywhere you want to. Some places you may have to book or they may charge a fee. Research the area where you would like to hold your ceremony and see what sort of different venues there are around. Celebrant Judy

How long does a civil ceremony take?

I'm having a civil ceremony but I don't know how long it should be to give me enough time to do photos after and also not bore my guests? How long does the average civil ceremony take?

Generally as long as you, the B &G want the ceremony to take. 10- 15 mins for just a basic legals only ceremony, up to 35 minutes for a meaningful ceremony about you. Remember that there will be 5 people each signing the 3 legal documents towards the end of any ceremony. Most celebrants would include this signing in their ceremony timing.
