OVERVIEW
I’m Kate Bellman, a Civil Celebrant, and a Port Douglas local of 20 years.
My style as celebrant is that I would like for your ceremony to be exactly as you want it!
As your celebrant, I know that you may have never done this process before, and am there to guide you every step of the way, whilst being friendly and fun!
I ensure that all your paperwork to be married is correct, legal and ready to be filed after your ceremony.
During our meetings, we'll chat and I'll get details about you as a couple.
I will provide you with copious readings, vows and poems to help you personalise your ceremony.
I can guide you through your ceremony with a rehearsal prior to your big day.
I will be there on your wedding day to guide you through.
I will send off all your forms to register your marriage, and guide you through how to change your name (if you want to).
On the day, I can provide you with;
* PA system - portable with microphone and Bluetooth to play music
* Registry Table - to sign you marriage certificates at
* Commemorative Marriage Certificate
I would love to hear from you!
About
Hi, I’m Kate, a Mum to Ella and Toby, a happily married wife to Tim, living beachside at Newell Beach. I became a Celebrant because it is a perfect match to my personality. I’m happy, friendly and humorous, and have no problem with public speaking. I want your ceremony to be what you want it to be, not what I think it should be. Ask me how I can help you with your wedding. I also run a photobooth, which can be a fun addition to your wedding reception. Love to hear from you!

I can marry you anywhere, any time and in any scenario. I am based in Port Douglas, and can travel to Cairns and south, to the Tablelands, and north to Cape Tribulation. I'm also happy to travel interstate - at a cost to be discussed.
As your celebrant, I ensure that all your paperwork to be married is correct, legal and ready to be filed after your ceremony.

I will send off all your forms to register your marriage.
I also provide you with a PA system on the day, so your guests can hear you exchange your vows and a table and chairs for you to sign your Marriage Certificates.
All documents you supply me with need to be ORIGINAL documents, of which I will take a copy.
I need your birth certificates with place of birth and parents names and registration number.
If you’ve been married before, documents of proof that it ended.
I can accept passports if they have place of birth.
If any of your documents are in another language, you will also need to supply a CERTIFIED translated document from a registered translator.
I cannot marry you as you would be committing bigamy. But I can accept your NOIM, your intent to marry, if you are to be divorced within your chosen timeframe.
I must stress, if your divorce is not finalised, I cannot carry out your marriage ceremony.
You can, but you need an extraordinary reason such as;
*Medical/Illness reasons
*Travel/Employment commitments
*Legal reasons
You will be required to gain consent by requesting a "Shortening of Time", which isn't guaranteed to be given.
My first ever wedding was done as a shortening, married the couple in under three weeks of meeting them. Everything went perfectly!
As a celebrant, I need a minimum of one month, but no more than eighteen months to lodge your intent to marry. You need to get married within this time frame.
We can always meet at any time and get to know each other. But officially, 18 months out down to one month for the paperwork.
You're in the right spot! Contact me, make an appointment, bring your identifying documents to our initial meeting and we'll go from there.

Aww, Rhi & Kael! You are both just the sweetest and I’m so glad I was able to be your celebrant and now be in your lives as friends! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both. With thanks, Kate xx P.S. As a Celebrant, I enjoy offering ideas which might suit couples, but only use them if couples are all in for them!

There are three sentences/paragraphs a marriage Celebrant has to say.
This is known as the monitum and is said just before the exchange of vows.
There is very specific wording we must adhere to. Some words can be swapped out for words of the same meaning.
Other than these, the ceremony is completely adaptable.
And a Celebrant can say as much or as little as the couple wants.
I go over each sentence with each person and adapt the wording to their liking. It’s quick and easy.
The rest of the ceremony should be how you want it to be!
