I have been a Marriage Celebrant in this magnificent area since 2008 and my Celebrant services include; weddings, eloping -large scale - beach, rainforest, chapel, garden, reef settings -all of the magnificent locations this region has to offer. Also vow renewals, commitments and naming a new baby.

Each ceremony is personalised to the couple's wishes for their day and I can guarantee a ceremony that is unique and memorable for every couple and their guests. Your ceremony can be as fun filled and relaxed or as formal and traditional as you wish - it is YOUR ceremony and your wishes and style are the most important considerations.

Owing to my personal and professional background, I have developed skills in relating warmly to people and speaking in an engaging, inclusive manner.

Couples and their guests comment positively on my ability to reach out and maintain an appropriate balance between casual and fun yet maintaining the inherent dignity of the occasion.

I can provideplanning tools - handouts on readings/poems, information about symbolic sub-ceremonies, sample vows, other wedding service providers to assist with designing your special and unique ceremony.

On the day I can supply the white clothed signing table and two chairs, 2 7m high white Bali wedding flags to create a nice backdrop, and a portable PA so you can play music if you wish and your guests can hear well.

You will be provided with a souvenir kit enclosing a specially printed edition of your ceremony script and vows and information about changing your name.

About

Although an Aussie for most of my life, I was born in Ireland and have a background in social work and Training. I became a Celebrant almost accidentally when some neighbours asked if they could take wedding photos in our garden. When the wedding party came in I realised this is what I was meant to do. When a couple choose me, I feel they place a special trust in me to give them one of the best experiences of their life and so I am always willing to go the extra mile to deliver.

Anne married us on 26 May 2018 on Newell Beach. It was a very special and memorable celebration that was made even more so due to Anne. Anne has the unique ability to understand what the couple wants. In our case, we designed a small intimate wedding that involved our family and friends with a mix of traditions that befitted our backgrounds and preferences. Anne guided us with options, yet at the same time allowed flexibility to tailor our wedding to provide that quint essential “us and wow” factor that made it such a special day. Anne is very experienced and organised and provided us with a very workable framework to guide the planning of the event, thereby allowing it to go smoothly with minimal stress. How do you get a marriage licence?

It is a little unclear whether you mean how do you get married and you mean the Notice of Intended Marriage or how you get your Marriage Certificate , on the basis that you mean your endorsed copy of your Marriage Certificate, the following applies.

Your Celebrant will discuss this with you. Many Celebrants now register your wedding online with Births Deaths and Marriages and they can fill in the details of your application for your Marriage Certificate. You will then receive an email from BDM confirming your application for your Marriage Certificate and asking you to pay the fee. Once you have done this your Certificate will be mailed to you. If your Celebrant does not register your marriage online, then they may be able to supply you with the application form and on this form you can provide your credit card details. This application form is then posted to BDM and then when processed the Marriage Certificate will be posted to you. Alternatively you can take the form to your local BDM office and apply in person.

Who's responsible for lifting the bride's veil?

The beautiy about having a Civil Celebrant is that really you can do whatever you want and many modern brides do not have veils, especially for outdoor weddings, as the veil can be very distracting as it blows in any wind. But following the long standing tradition, normally the bride's father would lift her veil as he presents her to her husband, but equally acceptable the bride can lift her own veil or the groom can lift the bride's veil usually before saying vows.
