OVERVIEW
Your wedding ceremony is the most important part of your special day so you must feel relaxed and comfortable with your choice of celebrant. I am there to share the experience with you and to guide you in creating the day and ceremony of your dreams.
I'm a full time celebrant so am available to perform your ceremony at any time that you wish. I am also triple vaccinated as I realise it's so important for you and your guests to be in safe environment.
I aim to:
* respect your wishes and listen to your ideas and requests
* guide you through all the complexities of your ceremony, including all the legalities
* deliver my ceremonies in a relaxed, calm and sensitive manner
* perform only one ceremony a day, so my time is exclusively yours on your day
* ensure I have competitive pricing which is all inclusive – there are no hidden extras down the track.
Let's work together to create the perfect ceremony you will happily remember after all the excitement of the wedding day has passed.
PLEASE NOTE: After much soul searching, I intend to resign from celebrancy at the end of June 2024 after nearly 18 years of wonderful memories. I will be unable to accept any queries for ceremonies after the end of June 2024 but would be delighted to create your special day up until my resignation.
About
Becoming a celebrant over 17 years ago was the best decision I have ever made. I just love working with my couples to provide lasting memories of such a special day in their lives and enjoy the moment with them. I'm reliable, flexible, relaxed and approachable so happily welcome any ideas and suggestions to make your ceremony very personal. I've been married to a wonderful man for 35 years. We enjoy travelling and good food and cooking and spend our free time in various volunteer roles.

Get Expert AdviceCan we write our own ring element into our wedding ceremony?
Wondering if the ring part of our ceremony can be personalised or if it has to be what everyone else has?
Margaret McLeod
Definitely possible. You are welcome to write your own wording anywhere in the ceremony except for the legal parts ad used by your celebrant.
Can I request my celebrant to wear a certain colour or outfit?
I've seen some awful clashing outfits and celebrants in white etc... is it rude to ask them to wear a particular colour or style? I don't know if I'm taking it way too far haha. But I want everything to look good! It is my wedding day, after all :)
Margaret McLeod
Dear Keira,
It's always a good idea to let your celebrant know your colour theme for your ceremony. I always ask my couples and try to blend in indiscreetly with that. I wouldn't have a problem being asked to wear a particular colour but maybe style might be pushing it a bit as everyone knows what suits them best. A professional celebrant should always be appropriately dressed, never never wear white and blend in. Hoping this helps. Margaret McLeod, Marriage Celebrant
Do I have my future father in law walk me down the aisle?
Unsure what category to put this under. I don't speak to my family at all and have always said I want to walk down the aisle on my own. I've had pressure from my future mother in law and other extended members of my fiances family that I should have him. Comments like "surely you would have xxxx walk you". He's a lovely man but there's a lot I disagree with his alcoholism and priorities and he has also made comments that he thinks I'll ask him. What can I do? Advice? Please ??
Margaret McLeod
Hi Shelby, you are free to choose anyone to walk you down the aisle. But if you feel uncomfortable with this perhaps you could think about maybe walking half way down on your own and then your groom walking up to meet you and you walk in together. This would symbolise your life from being single to then becoming husband and wife and the new beginnings ahead of you. It's your day so don't bow to pressure. Weddings today don't have to be traditional so be creative. Good luck. I'd like to hear what you decided eventually as many brides face the same problem as you are now. Best wishes. Margaret McLeod
