Growing up, you'd always find me performing for a crowd. School productions, talent shows, drama classes, all of it! I just wanted to entertain people and put a smile on their faces. As the baby of a large Italian family, I was fortunate enough to see the magic that comes with weddings from a young age. Sarah is the best in the business! We were stressed and clueless with how to plan a ceremony, and Sarah guided us through every step with ease and confidence. My ‘strong and silent-type’ husband is a man of few words, and Sarah was able to help him put his feelings into paper and deliver the most beautiful ceremony we could have imagined. With all the stress leading up to the wedding, the one vendor we weren’t worried about was Sarah - she is so well prepared and walked us through every step as well as assured us of any back up plans or contingencies if needed. A true wedding expert! Everything went off without a glitch and Sarah not only delivered a beautiful ceremony, but shared genuine joy and excitement with us both in the lead up and on our big day. If we could do it all over again, we would choose Sarah every time.

Sarah was incredible to work with. From our first meeting she made the process easy and helped us to make the day uniquely ours. Can you sign NOIM form on the wedding day?

My friend got married recently but she felt like she was pressured by the groom's family as everything happened in just a day. The celebrant filled the NOIM form, did the vows and gave the couple a marriage certificate, all on the same day. Is it even legal? Don't you need atleast a month gap between the NOIM lodgement and wedding day? Marriage has not been registered yet so she wants to cancel her wedding. Is there any way?

Hi there!

This sounds like a very unfortunate situation and is very much a no go on multiple parts. Firstly, it sounds like there was very little to no consent given by the bride and by law, a wedding cannot be sprung on her or nor should she be pressured into it. Secondly, the NOIM should be filled in and signed by all parties a minimum of 30 days before their wedding. There is no way around this. This marriage is illegal. I'd be contacting Births Deaths and Marriages to lodge a formal complaint and to see what legal procedures are available to ensure the wedding hasn't been cleared as it's not valid in the first place.

I would recommend 10 - 12 months before your wedding if possible to ensure you are able to book the celebrant you really want. Many celebrants are booked up for months in advance so I always say the sooner the better.
