Hello, I am Lisa sometimes known by my nickname, Rayvn. How exciting that you are planning your wedding, and I would love to help make your dream wedding a reality. I am a Marriage and Memorial Celebrant and a Life Doula servicing the Greater Brisbane region, Gold and Sunny Coasts, Ipswich, and Surrounds. Congratulations! First up have discussions together about dates, keeping in mind what season you would like to be married in. Be mindful of any monsoonal times and being Australia, consider those times of year where heat waves are common. Then consider what type of wedding is your dream wedding, do you have cultural and religious considerations? Do you want a traditional ceremony or more modern? do you want to personalise with a theme or have a classic white wedding?
Is your heart set on an Indoor chapel wedding or maybe you prefer a garden wedding? perhaps a beach wedding is your preference.
When considering venues, pay some attention to accessibility of the venue for parking, do you have guests who have mobility requirements? does the venue have all the features you require like aircon? do you want a venue that can also host the reception or will the reception be closeby? if an outdoor venue what will your alternative arrangement be should increment weather be an issue.
Consider time of day too..... perhaps a late afternoon wedding to capture those magic photographic sunset moments. Whatever your choice consider direction of sun for comfort if an outdoor wedding or you wish to have phots taken out doors.
During this process you will need to give thought to a Celebrant, afterall they wil be doing the all important task of legally marrying you both. When choosing a Celebrant ensure they are Government Appointed and able to do weddings. They resonate with your values, are friendly and helpful. A Celebrant also needs to be easily contactable and able to communicate and guide you through the steps you both need to take to marriage. And lastly, the Celebrant needs to fit with your budget.
Once you choose your celebrant, One of the first things they will do if you have not already done so, is to assist you in filling out a Notice of intention to Marry form which must be filled out between 18 months and 1 calendar month before the date you intend to marry.
Initially, these are your first points of consideration before undertaking the next steps towards your Marriage together.
It all seems daunting at first, but relax and enjoy the journey towards sealing your love together in matrimony.
