OVERVIEW
My approach to ceremonies of all types is open, honest, vibrant and inclusive of all lifestyles; a ceremony free from traditions but honoring the sacredness of the event.
I love, love, love, to write and would LOVE even more to write you and your partner a personal, unique and intimate script, something that you'll look back on and remember fondly. I’ve been performing music and exhibiting art for many years and celebrancy is a beautiful extension of that, one that's close to my heart.
I’m thrilled and truly looking forward to sharing these beautiful moments with loved up couples! So do reach out and see if I'm the celebrant for you.
As an artist/illustrator I am often asked to create wedding and event invitations, order of service, portraits and print drawings for your guests to stamp with their fingerprint. I loved to be challenged and so the options of what I can do are endless. I offer MC services along with copywriting asisstance for your vows and speeches.
Let's have a chat, and if you feel I'm a good fit, then I'd love to go for a coffee or wine and get to know you and your partner.
About
I'm a queer mumma to three, a visual artist & illustrator, a musician and author. My 'day job' is working within the funeral world as a funeral director, mortician and also in the role of celebrant to lead these significant events. I love the community and lifestyle here in Adelaide as I have the freedom to explore many of the passions that grab me. I've been performing music in various ways for most of my life, and celebrancy seems like a natural progression to me.

Get Expert AdviceIs it OK to ask a celebrant to wear a costume at our wedding?
Hello! I've read some responses to celebrants dressing in a matching style etc. Is it rude to ask if they wouldn't mind wearing a costume? I've read somewhere a couple got married by batman and then the obvious Elvis option.. I like the idea of an iconic character and think it would be something to remember but wouldn't want to offend anyone or make it a bad experience. TIA

Absolutely! I've been asked all sorts of things! What a fabulous concept
Do any modern couples still include the opportunity to object during a wedding ceremony?
Curious about this and how it would be done well.
Joelie Croser Civil Celebrant
I've never been asked to include this in a ceremony but it certainly could be. Personally, I would want to be sure, however, that no one was actually going to object! Purely to avoid a potentially difficult social situation.
Can we write our own ring element into our wedding ceremony?
Wondering if the ring part of our ceremony can be personalised or if it has to be what everyone else has?
Joelie Croser Civil Celebrant
You sure can. The ring exchange is not a legal part of the ceremony which means it can be tailored to suit your personalities and the style of your ceremony perfectly. It's often a nice opportunity to slip in additional rituals such as saying I Do (also not a legal requirement), a hand fasting ritual or a wabi sabi ritual. There are so many options here which makes it a very personalised part of teh service.
