OVERVIEW
Hi I’m Amanda, a warm, engaging, modern and detail oriented marriage celebrant in Adelaide, South Australia. I specialise in Bespoke Ceremonies, really enjoy planning and officiating at SUPRISE WEDDINGS and am passionate about people celebrating their wedding their way. As an avid traveller I especially love a destination wedding and never tire of discovering new sites for ceremonies. I believe that little things make a big difference; as your celebrant you can be assured your ceremony will represent your style and tastes and be a delight for those who come to witness you say “I do”.
So let me help you plan your ceremony and the moment where you will make promises to each other in front of your nearest and dearest. I am here to make things stress free and enjoyable by designing something completely unique for you, by you and with you.
I offer three types of marriage services
With over 20 years experience in planning, coordinating and facilitating events, together with a love of public speaking and flair for speech writing, I can’t wait to be a part of your special day.
Contact me now (or find me on Facebook or my website), I would love to hear all about your vision for your wedding and I offer an obligation free meet ’n’ greet service so you can determine if I am the right fit for you.
About
In 2012 I had a Destination Wedding in Uluwatu Bali on a private beach. My husband and I have a love of the ocean and wanted the sand between our toes for the entire day. It was something never done before at the site we chose but I had a vision and through my drive, passion and organisational skills I brought this vision to life. I absolutely loved planning every detail of our wedding and writing our entire ceremony and it was this experience that made me want to do this for a living.

Absolutely and I am here to guide you every step of the way. If you book my Bespoke Wedding Package then together we will create a totally unique and special ceremony that truly reflects you, and is memorable for you and your guests for all the right reasons.
This offer also applies to Commitment Ceremonies and Vow Renewal but does not apply to my other packages.
I am available to meet with you as often as you need in order to craft your perfect ceremony. As your celebrant I’m here to support and guide you throughout the planning process (I love planning almost as much as the actual day!). Getting to know you through phone, email and face-to-face contact is how I craft a really special and memorable ceremony that is totally personalised. So seriously, contact me as often as you need.
I customise all my quotes and packages for couples based on what they would like. My most popular package is the all inclusive 'Bespoke Wedding package' and this includes:
- complete legal Notice of Intended Marriage (must occur at least 1 month prior to wedding but no more than 18 months)
- begin to get to know you as a couple
- discuss at length all aspects of your ceremony
I use a Chiayo Stage Pro Multifunctional Wireless Mixer Amplifier System (150W) that delivers excellent sound quality to several hundred people via tripod mount.
It includes a CD/USB/SD/Digital video player modules and a digital recorder/player module for playing recorded music during the ceremony. There is also two 6.3mm jacks for up to two instrument level inputs if you have musicians playing live music that would like to use my system for amplification.
I use a headset microphone and I provide a hand-held wireless microphone for the vows and any readings by guests.

Woo hooo I made the lead up to a wedding that had to be postponed due to COVID-19 stress free, brilliant, nailed it !!! Gosh the ceremony in the end was something seriously special and the weather, GLORIOUS. My sneaky tissue came to the rescue, love it when that happens. I adored working with you both and wish you such happiness.
Expert Advice
As a wedding professional, Amanda - Marriage Celebrant offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.
Get Expert AdviceIs it okay to stand the opposite way at the altar?
I know the bride is meant to stand on the left in our culture (and opposite in Jewish ceremonies), but can I stand on the right?
Amanda - Marriage Celebrant
You can stand wherever you want. It is your ceremony and there are no laws govering where to stand so do what is right for you and ignore all of those people telling you that you 'should' stand in a particular way.
Do you usually have a rehearsal with the couple before the wedding day?
Amanda - Marriage Celebrant
The decision to have a rehearsal is totally up to you and I am happy to accommodate your decision either way. I didn’t have a rehearsal per se for my wedding but I did have a catch-up at the venue to suss out things like where the ceremony would be held, where the aisle was an how I would be arriving to walk down it, who would be operating the music and how, where the signing table would be etc. It also gave my bridal party the opportunity to get a feel for the venue before the big day and this helped settle nerves, especially those of the flower girls.
So no I don’t think it is necessary to run through the ceremony from start to finish like a well rehearsed play but it is certainly a good idea to have a meeting in the weeks leading up to the wedding to step through the details and answer any questions people might have. It is also the time that I generally get you to sign the second bit of legal paper, the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage.

Love Monkey by Edward Monkton
It was once custom that every monkey would carve for himself a wooden heart. And the heart that love monkey carved was the most beautiful of all. Its contours were soft and rounded, like an ancient pebble sculpted by the oceans. Its surface was smooth and shiny like liquid silk, and it shone as bright as a ruby in the desert sun. “Take your hearts with you wherever you go,” said their teacher. “Nurture them as a mother nurtures her new-born baby. For when you want to give of yourself fully, your heart is the only true gift you will have.”
That night, Love Monkey had a dream. He dreamt of a monkey whose smile lit up his sole like sunshine. He held out his heart to her, so radiant, so splendid and so new. She took him in her arms and he felt truly, perfectly, at peace. When Love Monkey awoke he resolved that, from that day forward, he would search for his Dream Monkey until he could stand before her and give to her his perfect heart.
He travelled through deserts…and climbed over mountains. He trekked across forests…and sailed many oceans. Love Monkey looked after his heart as best he could, but the storms that he endured on his travels chipped away at its surface and each new adventure reshaped it. By the time he arrived on the last distant shore, his heart was so changed by the patina of time that it barely resembled his old heart at all.
And then, he saw her. Standing before him, as radiant and as beautiful as the sunshine, was his Dream Monkey. At first the cold not speak. But then, from somewhere deep inside himself, he found a voice. “I have travelled the world over to find you, and to give you my heart,” he said. “But now that I am finally with you, I see how foolish I have been. You are so beautiful, so perfect. And my heart that was once smooth, so bright and so new is now not something that I could even bring myself to show you,” and he turned to go. “Let me see it,” said Dream Monkey. She took his heart and held it up to the light. “Nothing to me is more beautiful. Every fissure tells a story. Every blemish makes you more real. All my life I have been waiting for a heart like this; a heart that speaks the truth.” “Come here,” she said. “I have something for you too.” In her hand was a tiny golden heart. It was as worn and as scratched as Love Monkey’s own…and it was the most precious thing that he had ever seen.
Love Monkey put his arms around her and they held each other for a long, long time. “I shall treasure this heart for as long as I live,” said Dream Monkey, running her fingers over its ridged and dimpled surface. Then they looked into each other’s eyes and, feeling the joy of truth in their souls for the first time, they began to laugh. And often they sit together still, holding each other’s hearts in their warm hands, lifting them to the light…and laughing. Always laughing.
