What type of suit to wear in a church wedding?

I like to look at the couple before deciding. I don't believe there is one rule fits all as to the dress etiquet for a church wedding. I think it's best to look at the theme, the character of the wedding party and the season before deciding whether to go in traditional colours and styles, or wheter to go with mood colours and styles.

For a church wedding, a classic and timeless suit is always a great choice, depending on the level of formality:

• Traditional/Formal: A black, navy, or charcoal suit with a crisp white shirt and a tie or bow tie is a safe and sophisticated option. A three-piece suit adds an extra touch of elegance.
• Semi-Formal/Modern: A dark or neutral-toned suit (such as deep blue, grey, or even beige) paired with a coordinating tie works well, especially if the wedding has a more relaxed feel.
• Summer or Daytime Wedding: A lighter suit in beige, light grey, or soft blue is stylish and season-appropriate while still looking polished.

You can't go wrong with a classic tuxedo for a church wedding! Think black wool fabric, black satin lapel, sharp white shirt with black buttons down the middle, black bowtie, white pocket square and shiny black shoes. However, tuxedos don't have to be black or wool.

Many of our clients are opting for black velvet or navy fabrics to make their tuxedoes with. These styles are just as timeless as a black tux but offer something different stylistically. We recently had a client do a green velvet dinner jacket paired with black trousers... it was amazing! 

Any suit is suitable, if your a guest.

Church weddings are more formal, so a black/navy suit or tuxedo would look great or if you want to dress up more formal go for a white jacket or tux with black pants. Seal the deal with a Black bow tie.
