I would suggest a groomsmen with Navy or Gunmetal Blue Jacket ; stone chino trousers ( not jeans ), light blue cotton French cuffed shirts and along with coordinated tie and pocket hanky....will compliment the bridesmaids while working well with the beach rustic theme...hope this helps...

Jaymie-Lee,

Our recommendation is to avoid Navy suits for the groomsmen. 2 reasons. 1. it creates a sea of darkness, and the casual feel of the wedding is lost to the formality of the boys and girls. 2. There is no balance for your photo's.

I would recommend for Beach - using beige's and browns to contrast against the girls Navy tone's, and use accessories (like the flowers) to compliment the gents ties. If you are using natives (oranges and greens and purples) then utilise these colours to help.

I would recommend for Rustic - using grey's, avoiding charcoal. Medium grey's like stone grey are nice for garden by the beach style or rustic themed weddings then accessorising with navy to tie the grooms men to the boys 'formalizes'the look.

A simple tip for keeping the colours safe is using a white shirt to provide base. It will reduce the activity of all the colours and help tie them all together. If you are opting for the super casual look (no ties and open neck shirts) then a softer contrasting colour like pale blue shirts would also work.

Hi Jaymie-Lee, there are several options available to you. One key piece of advise I would offer is - The Groom should compliment the Bride while the Groomsmen should compliment the Bridesmaids. All the boys can wear the same colour or the Groom can wear a different shade to ensure he stands out. If the girls are in Navy Blue, the boys could wear a light grey or sand coloured suit with Navy accessories or they could wear a Navy suit to compliment the girls. Keep in mind that they don't have to all wear suits, you may want a less formal look which could include Vests, Chinos, Jackets, Suspenders .... the options are endless ! Instead of trying to picture how it would look, I would suggest booking in for a Free Styling session ( phone 9630 6000 ) and we can demonstrate how the different options would look. You can then make your decision on what you like the best.

A navy blue suit can look beautiful if the girls are also wearing navy. If you are looking for a more relaxed feel though, we have lovely sand coloured linen/cotton suits which can be purchased. Check out our Instagram page for weddings that we have recently dressed. @peppersformalwear

I would suggest contrasting against the bridesmaids with a lighter colour so your photo's look balanced. A great way to achieve this is by using beige or even light grey depending on what the groom is wearing. A beach or rustic theme can include open shirts in white or sky blue in pure cotton or linen to soften the effect. These softer colours will allow you to have some freedom when choosing the groomsmens

I would suggest light grey with navy accessories (pocket square and tie/bow tie) Or a beige linen suit. Both of these suggestions would go with a white cotton shirt and tan shoes. Let us know if you require us to send you fabric swatches.
