What you’ll love about working with Suitably for your wedding day:
“From initial contact with Alexander through to the quality of our suits for our wedding day, my experience with Suitably was fantastic. Alexander was very helpful with the fabric choice, personally double-checking the measurements, regularly updating me on the production, and getting the suits to myself and the 3 groomsmen who were located across the country. The quality and the fit of the suit is amazing, not one alteration required for any of the groomsmen!” Anthony S

Every couple is different. A lot of our customers come to us up to 12 months in advanced for initial planning and to organise a payment plan to make things easier. Typically, however, we recommend 3 months prior to make sure there's no stress as you get closer to the big day. We like to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible, however if you are in a pinch, we can deliver tailored suits in as little as 10 days.

At what point in the custom made suit process can the measurements be re-taken? What other options would I have?

Hey there!
There are so many factors that will impact this:
- How much fabric reserve is left in the seams (depends on the manufacturer)
- Where you've put on the weight (some places are easier to adjust than others)
- How you've cut the suit in the first place (slim/classic/etc), as well as the "house style" of the garment
- Most importantly, your expectations.
As a general rule, we say that +/- 5kg is mostly something that we can work with, and often beyond but of course, there are limits and this varies based on the garment. If you are concerned about it, get in touch with your provider ASAP and explain the situation. Hopefully, they will be able to provide you with further information about their process and deliver a strategy that will help you through this.
Hope that helps!

Hey guys! How can I politely tell my guests to dress up nicely?
I tested out at my engagement party if my guest would follow the cocktail theme, but most rocked up with what I'd consider something you'd wear to a 21st or a night out. I want my event to be super formal and everyone look accordingly but not sure how to word it nicely. Thank you :)

Hey Bianca.
That's a great question that actually goes into a few different debates when it comes to the concept of dress code. As a general rule of thumb, you can break down most dress codes into formal, semi-formal, informal and casual. Within these, you will have subsections such as "black tie", "white tie", "business casual" etc. The problem here is that whilst there is a definitive meaning to these codes, it's not realistic to expect all your guests to understand what they mean. What's more than that, different people will have a different understanding of what these codes actually mean which adds to the confusion.
My generally advice is to suggest the macro-level code (formal, informal, etc) and then add an I.E. with what you are anticipating, followed by what is not acceptable. For example:
Dress code: Formal (I.E. suits for men, gowns for women. No chinos or jeans please)
It's a mouthful but at least nothing gets lost in translation. In the above example, suggesting no chinos or jeans immediately rules out things like shorts and other less formal attire which helps to direct your guests to dress the way that you would like them to.
Try not to overcomplicate. Give the cues and the macro-level and try to do enough on this level that you don't need to get into the nitty gritty.
Hope this helps!

How to describe our dress code to guests
We want to have a formal, black tie wedding, but we’re not sure our guests will really know what that means. What’s a short and polite way of explaining this on our wedding invites? We really want everyone to dress up for it.

Hello!
As a rule of thumb, It's important to have this listed somewhere. Invitations and your website are fine (use your website as a way to elaborate on what you are after).
Be aware however, that the traditional black-tie is typically seen as an evening thing, usually conjuring up images of tuxedos, etc. You may be more after something that's "formal" and not black tie. Also, be mindful that not everyone will have the appropriate wear in their wardrobe to match this dress code. People dress far less formally than they used to and as such, I think perhaps it's more prudent to suggest "Formal, with black tie optional" as a more forgiving dress code. You can then use your other correspondence to specifically detail what you mean so there isn't any ambiguity with your guests.
I hope that this helps! Let me know if I can provide you with any further information. Thank you!!
