Daniel has always loved fashion from a young age and began his professional career at age 20 working in a bridal store doing made to measure gowns. Daniel has worked for some of the best bridal houses and designers in Australia and after over 20 years of experience has opened his own couture house in Sydney.

FAQ

What Is the Process for a custom made gown?

First we start with a design consultation, where we chat about silloutte, fabrics and ideas. We choose the fabrics after looking at samples. We then do a toile fitting which is made from calico fabric and we make changes to design and fit as we see necessary. Third appoiment is fabric fitting were we perfect the garment and the fit before adding any lace and embelsihment. The final fitting is to measure the hem and to do the final closure og the gown. This is done a few weeks before the wedding to ensure a perfct fit.

When should I book to start the process of having my gown made.

Ideally it is great to have 6 months to work on the gown. Because it is all made locally in Australia we can start this process a little later granted that we have availabilty and also It can not be to early to book a year in advance as the busy times will book up.

What is the advantages of having a gown made to measure.

The gown is excatly to your design and is made to fit you perfectly. The style lines and proportions are custom to your shape and size which means the dress is the most flattering for you. Having a dress fit perfectly and designed for your body is the only way to get a perfect dress. and the process is fun and collaborative.

Working with Daniel to create my perfect dress was a dream. From the initial design consult, where he brought all my unique ideas of colour, shape and detail into one concept; through to the execution where his expertise and knowledge of fine fabrics, dressmaking skills and couture techniques brought out a dress of perfection and something only dreams are made of! During the fittings Daniel was professional and had such an eye for fit and detail I knew I had chosen the right person to create my dress and I was in safe hands. The dress came in perfectly on budget and I am still getting compliments on how stunning it was! There are not words adequate enough to express my gratitude to Daniel and his team at DMC. My dress turned out so beautifully, and exactly the look I was going for. I walked in with only a few (very different!) inspiration photos and a general sense of the style/vibe I wanted, and he was able to perfectly capture all of those and turn into my dream dress.
